Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers - Top Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 7 (May 6 - May 12)

Willi Castro - fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers prospects waiver wire pickups

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 7 of the 2024 season. Thunder Dan Palyo analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up in Week 7.

Whether you have to replace an injured stud (sorry all you Mike Trout owners) or are just looking to cut some dead weight, I have some hitters worthy of picking up for the week ahead!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

In this piece, every week I'll look to find hitters playing in most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller.

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

This week we have eleven teams playing seven games between Monday, May 6, and Sunday, May 12:

  • Chicago White Sox (@TB, vs. CLE)
  • Cleveland (vs. DET, @CWS)
  • Kansas City (vs. MIL, @LAA)
  • Los Angeles Angels (@PIT, vs. KC)
  • Milwaukee (@KC, vs. STL)
  • Minnesota (vs. SEA, @TOR)
  • Oakland (vs. TEX, @SEA)
  • San Francisco (@PHI, @COL, vs. CIN)
  • Seattle (@MIN, vs. OAK)
  • St. Louis (vs. NYM, @MIL)
  • Texas (@OAK, @COL)

Five teams play ONLY five games this week - Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Toronto, and Washington.

Park Factor Upgrades and Downgrades:

  • Giants and Rangers both play a series in Coors - UPGRADE
  • Diamondbacks play a series in Cincinnati - UPGRADE

Week 7 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40% rostered or lower and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Junior Caminero, 3B - TBR (41%)

Caminero's call-up to Tampa seems to be imminent, and his rostership is on the rise to where he's not going to be available in most standard leagues here soon. I would grab him now if he's still available in your league. The Rays need hitting in the worst way and Caminero has been hitting for average and power at Triple-A. He's one of the top prospects in baseball and should get a chance to play every day once he finally comes up.

Andy Pages, OF - LAD (48%)

Pages won't be in this article next week as his rostership is now well over 40% but he was just 35% rostered when I started prepping this article a few days ago. He's riding a 10-game hitting streak with five multi-hit games mixed in and is now up to a .333 average on the season. He's clearly shown that he belongs at the major league level.

Willi Castro, 2B/3B/SS/OF - MIN (48%)

The Twins just keep winning and are getting it done on offense during their win streak after struggling with the bats early. Castro has been a major catalyst in this lineup, even while hitting in the bottom half.

He's red hot right now and in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak of his own, while also swiping the occasional base. His multi-position eligibility is also a huge asset for your roster. Again, he's over 40% now but has jumped over 10% just since yesterday.

Josh Smith, 3B/SS/OF - TEX (39%)

I have been on the Josh Smith hype train for several weeks now and he's finally getting some rostership after hitting two home runs last week and showing everyone that he has some power to go with great contact skills.

The rationale here is the same as every other week, he hits right in the middle of a really good lineup and makes a ton of quality contact, giving him plenty of upside in all offensive categories (other than steals, which he still has zero).

Joey Loperfido, OF - HOU (34%)

The big lefty has hits in three out of his first four major league games and is hitting .308 through his first 14 at-bats. We haven't seen any long balls yet, but we know the power is there and he should continue to get opportunities to show it off as he should start against righties (at least) going forward and may end up forcing Houston to start him against lefties, too.

Tyler Nevin, 1B/3B/OF - OAK (37%)

I mentioned Brent Rooker for Oakland here last week and he just hit two more home runs yesterday. This week, take a look at Nevin.

At age 26 and now on his third big league club, Nevin is hardly a prospect anymore. But the son of former MLB great Phil Nevin is crushing long balls for Oakland with four home runs over the last nine games. He could just be on a hot streak and come back to Earth at any point, but in the meantime, he looks like one of the better power-hitting adds on the wire.

Tyler Black, 2B/3B - MIL (25%)

Black got the call to the big leagues this week and was immediately slotted into the cleanup spot in his first start. That tells you what the Brewers think of his ability. He had five home runs and three steals down at Triple-A Nashville before getting the call and is a solid dual-threat player with eligibility and both second base (a shallow position) and third base.

Will Benson, OF - CIN (21%)

I am a sucker for Benson, I will admit it. I know he strikes out too much, but few players have the combined power and speed that Benson possesses. He's been leading off for Cincinnati, too, giving him even more value. He can be streaky, so managers will often dump Benson after a cold stretch.

But this is a guy who really should be rostered across more leagues. He has four home runs and six steals already. If you can handle his poor batting average, he's well worth rostering for his other contributions.

Zach Neto, SS - LAA (12%)

Neto is another guy who I think is underappreciated across fantasy baseball. He started off really slow, which is why he's still hitting just .229, but the Angels shortstop has two home runs in his last eight games and five RBI. He's also swiped four bases. The Angels play seven games this week and could have some nice matchups against Pittsburgh as they should avoid Jared Jones and Paul Skenes.

Deep League Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10% rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Good luck this week and choose those streaming options wisely!
