The Philadelphia Phillies re-signed right-hander David Buchanan to a minor-league deal on Tuesday that includes a non-roster invite to major-league spring training. Buchanan has not played in the big leagues since 2015 and has spent numerous years pitching overseas in Japan and Korea. In 2014 and 2015 with the Phillies, he went 8-17 with a 5.01 ERA (4.68 FIP) and 1.51 WHIP with 61 walks and 115 strikeouts over 192 1/3 innings in 35 starts. The 34-year-old veteran spent the last four years in Korea and went 12-8 with a 2.54 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 139 strikeouts in 30 starts (188 innings) with the Samsung Lions in 2023. He will give the Phillies some extra starting depth but will most likely begin the 2024 season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
