Jalen Hurts Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (finger) underwent X-rays that showed no fracture in the middle finger on his throwing hand that he dislocated in the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, according to sources. Hurts said he's taking it day by day and will have an extra day to heal up with the Eagles facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road on wild-card weekend next Monday night.

The 25-year-old went just 7-for-16 for 55 yards and an interception before leaving the game for good. Hurts and the Eagles offense are slumping heading into the postseason. Although he should be good to go to play against Tampa next Monday night, he could be without receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle). Hurts' and the Eagles' offense's stock is down, but he should still be considered a top-five QB option for DFS lineups against a Bucs defense that was a top-10 matchup for QBs during the regular season.

Jaylen Waddle Injury Update

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel reiterated on Monday that he's optimistic about the chances of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (ankle) playing in Saturday's wild-card playoff game on the road in Kansas City against the Chiefs. Waddle missed the final two weeks of the regular season but is hoping to return this weekend for the first round of the postseason.

The 25-year-old took a clear back seat to Tyreek Hill in 2023, but that didn't stop him from reaching the 1,000-yard mark for the third straight season to open his career in the second-highest scoring offense in football. Waddle also had 72 receptions on 104 targets for a career-low four touchdowns. He'll be a bit more risky coming off his injury against an underrated Chiefs defense if he's active, but his return would be welcomed news for a Dolphins offense that hasn't been the same without him in two consecutive losses.

Raheem Mostert Injury Update

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel reiterated on Monday that he's optimistic about the status of running back Raheem Mostert's (ankle, knee) in the wild-card contest this Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 31-year-old led the league with 21 total touchdowns during the regular season but has missed the last two games due to both ankle and knee ailments. With Mostert out the last two weeks, rookie De'Von Achane has handled most of the backfield snaps and touches alongside Jeff Wilson Jr.

Mostert was a touchdown machine and an every-week starter in fantasy lineups during the regular season, but he'll have bust potential in the first week of the playoffs if he's active on Saturday. He'll be touchdown-dependent and could lose valuable snaps to Achane, who looked close to his pre-injury self in Week 18.

Sam LaPorta Injury Update

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) was carted off the field with a knee injury during Sunday's Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He has been diagnosed with a hyperextended knee, and head coach Dan Campbell said he has an "outside shot" to play against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Wild Card contest on Sunday. Campbell mentioned that LaPorta is more day-to-day than week-to-week, but his status is still up in the air for Detroit's first home playoff game since 1994.

It sounds like he'd be ready to go for the Divisional Round if the Lions advance, but fantasy managers and DFS gamers will need to check back on his status throughout the week. If he can't play, Brock Wright (hip), who is expected to be ready to go on Sunday, will likely start at tight end.

Gabe Davis Injury Update

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) exited the Week 18 division-clinching win over the Miami Dolphins due to a knee injury. He did not return, and he has now been diagnosed with a PCL sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The injury is not viewed as a long-term one, and he has not been ruled out of the Wild Card contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. DFS gamers and playoff-league fantasy managers will need to check back for status updates moving forward, but it sounds like he could play on Sunday. If Davis can't play, Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid should see extra targets.

Jameson Williams, Brock Wright Injury Update

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (ankle) and tight end Brock Wright (hip) will return to practice this week and are expected to play against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Wild Card game on Sunday Night Football.

Williams missed the Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings with an ankle injury and illness, while Wright was absent due to a hip ailment. With Sam LaPorta (knee) and Kalif Raymond (knee) getting banged up on Sunday, the return of Williams and Wright could be a significant development. Williams has boom-or-bust appeal in playoff leagues and DFS, but Wright has limited upside even if he's elevated to the No. 1 tight end role.

Romeo Doubs Injury Update

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (chest) left the Week 18 regular season finale against the Chicago Bears early on Sunday and was taken to the hospital. Doubs returned to the locker room after the victory but said on the radio that he was coughing up blood. Head coach Matt LaFleur called Doubs day-to-day ahead of this Sunday's wild-card playoff matchup in Dallas against the Cowboys. We're glad the 23-year-old pass-catcher is OK, but it sounds pretty serious and that he may not be available this weekend.

Those playing DFS will want to check on his practice status this week. If he cannot go against Dallas, rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton would step into larger roles. The Packers will also be hoping to get Christian Watson (hamstring) back for the first time since Week 13.
