Denny Hamlin will not be crowned the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Champion. He was eliminated from contention this past Sunday at Martinsville Speedway despite having an incredibly strong race at the half-mile track. Hamlin had the best Average Running Position in Sunday's Xfinity 500 at Martinsville but failed to capitalize and get the win. He ultimately finished eight points below the cut line and will not be competing for the Championship next weekend at Phoenix. After the elimination, Hamlin stated, "I didn't need much more; [Blaney] was just a little better than what we were today. That's the fact of it." Hamlin has 51 career victories in NASCAR's top series but is now 0-for-18 when it comes to winning Championships.--Jordan McAbee
