The Chicago White Sox officially named Chris Getz their new general manager on Thursday. The former infielder was promoted to senior vice president/general manager after turning 40 on Wednesday. He had been the team's director of player development and an assistant general manager since 2017. Getz will take over after former executive vice president Kenny Williams and general manager Rick Hahn were fired this month. Getz was drafted by Chicago in the fourth round in 2005 and played in parts of seven seasons with the White Sox, Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays until 2014. He'll be tasked with rebuilding a pitching staff that features a starting rotation ranked 13th in the American League in ERA.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
