Tommy Pham Not Ready To Return
10 months agoNew York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday with the team taking on the New York Yankees. Pham was a pinch-hitter in Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox, but he'll have to wait another day to get back into the starting lineup after dealing with a nagging right-groin injury that he's had since just before the All-Star break. Mark Canha is getting another start in left field and will hit eighth against Yankees right-hander Domingo German. Pham is a potential trade piece for the disappointing Mets as the Aug. 1 trade deadline nears, but he needs to get back on the field to boost his trade value. The 35-year-old veteran is batting a solid .271/.355/.472 on the year with nine home runs, 35 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 218 at-bats.
