New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (wrist) returned home for further testing on Thursday. After taking a pitch to the left wrist, the slugger exited Wednesday's game versus the Braves. He had a CT scan in Atlanta on Thursday morning. However, skipper Buck Showalter said Alonso returned to New York to "have our people look at it." At any rate, Showalter's comment doesn't sit well with fantasy managers, who were originally expecting Alonso to miss a few games. But now it appears things could be much worse, which isn't ideal, considering the 28-year-old has 22 home runs and 49 RBI in 2023.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
