According to Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer, there is no timetable on when a contract extension for linebacker Brian Burns (ankle) will be finalized. However, he added that Burns would remain in Carolina and vowed to continue to work with the Pro Bowler's agent on a new deal. The 25-year-old finished the 2022-23 campaign with career-highs in tackles (63) and sacks (12.5). He also underwent ankle surgery during the offseason. Fortunately, Burns is expected to be ready for training camp and should remain a productive IDP option in 2023-24, regardless of his contract situation--Dennis Clausen
