Bryan Reynolds Open To Extension With Pirates
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds said that he's still open to a long-term contract extension with the team, and his difference of opinion about his worth led to his trade request in the offseason. "I want that to be a fair deal for both sides, not one side or the other. Not a crazy player [deal], not a crazy team deal. That's always been my number one," Reynolds said. The 28-year-old won't be eligible for free agency for another three years, and he's due to make $6.75 million in 2023. The Pirates' asking price for Reynolds this offseason has been absurdly high, so interested teams will likely check back in before this summer's trade deadline if he hasn't signed an extension to stay in Pittsburgh by then. Reynolds was an All-Star in 2021 and had a career-high 27 home runs while slashing .262/.345/.461 in 145 games in 2022 in his fourth MLB season.
