DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (2/12/23): NBA DFS Lineups

jayson tatum nba dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball NBA injury news

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on February 12th, 2023. Kyle Ringstad provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Just two games in the NBA today as the most-watched event in the history of TV is set to kick off in the late afternoon today. That means we can sit back and enjoy some early-afternoon basketball (the best kind!). Memphis will be in Boston for a marquee matchup of two top seeds, while Toronto will take on Detroit in the great state of Michigan. We have to consider all options with just four teams in action today, and we may not get the same type of news trickle that we usually see with the games tipping off so early. Stay tuned and be ready to make pivots. Let's get to it.

Here is my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 2/12/23. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Killian Hayes, vs. TOR (FD: $5,400, DK: $4,900)

The matchup is tough, and Detroit's implied total is ugly, but this is a two-game slate, and we have to take what we can get in terms of finding value. Hayes is a starting point guard who typically sees around 30 minutes of playing time, but there has been some inconsistency on that front. For example, he played 39 minutes last game but only 18 minutes on 2/4. His rates are solid, as he's averaging a 21.4% usage rate and 0.96 FPTS/min with Bagley and Cunningham off the floor, so as long as he gets his usual allotment of minutes, he should crush value tonight.

Derrick White, vs. MEM (FD: $6,800, DK: $6,700)

We have to keep riding the hot hand with White today. The former Spurs guard had games of 42.75 and 36 DK points heading into last night's matchup against the lowly Hornets. He torched them for a whopping 64.75 DK points on an incredible 33/3/10/3/1 line. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart will remain out today, and White's 21.4% usage rate and 1.09 FPTS/min rate will work out just fine at his still-too-low salary. Memphis has been bleeding points to opposing PGs lately, allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the position over their last 15 games.

Also consider: Desmond Bane, Malcolm Brogdon, Jaden Ivey

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jayson Tatum, vs. MEM (FD: $11,000, DK: $11,300)

There's not much to say about recommending Tatum as the pay-up option today. He's very clearly the top player on the slate. He is projected to clear the rest of the field by over 12 DK points (via DFSArmy projections). The Grizzlies rank poorly against power forwards and have also allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams over their last 15 games, so there's plenty of room for Tatum to put up a vintage performance today.

Chris Boucher, vs. DET (DK: $4,300)

Yes, Boucher is risky. He should be nowhere close to your player pool if you're playing in cash (50/50) contests. However, those plugged into DFS for the last few years are fully aware of the fantasy upside Boucher brings to the table. As with previous iterations of high-efficiency players Boban Bogdanovic and Robert Williams - it's all about the playing time these guys receive.

The Raptors got Jakob Poeltl at the trade deadline, and Precious Achiuwa is still ahead of Boucher on the depth chart, but he has exceeded salary-based expectations in five of his last six games. He exploded for 47.25 and 33.5 DK points in that stretch, so one would think that would have shown the coach how efficient and effective he can be when given ample playing time. He's still cheap enough where we can afford to throw darts at him on a tiny slate, but don't go crazy here as the risk is palpable.

Also consider: Isaiah Stewart, Al Horford, Robert Williams III, Bojan Bogdanovic

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jalen Duren, vs. TOR (FD: $5,70, DK: $5,200)

As with Hayes, this is a "hot hand" situation that we should be interested in riding the wave on today. The rookie had a career-best game on Friday, going for 30 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and a steal (66.75 DK points). He put up a value-crushing 34.25 DK points in the game prior. The Raptors are among the best in the league at defending the center position, but we can't ignore the production and the potential value to be had with getting to Duren today.

Also consider: Precious Achiuwa
