Allen Lazard was a popular name in fantasy drafts throughout the summer as most people assumed he would ascend to the WR1 role for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers during the 2022 season.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan so far. Lazard missed Week 1 thanks to a foot/ankle injury before returning in Week 2 against the Bears. Lazard re-aggravated the injury during the game, and while he finished the game, he was affected by the injury.
Lazard finishing the game was a big step, but he’s been held out of practice for most of this week once again. That begs the question ahead of Week 3’s games: Is Allen Lazard Healthy? Will he play in Week 3?

Is Allen Lazard Healthy or Injured?
Once again, Lazard looks to be trying to manage and play through a lingering foot and ankle injury. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we will have much clarity regarding his situation before the Packers kick off during Week 3.
Lazard registered the dreaded “did not practice” tag on Thursday. He did practice on Friday, but head coach Matt LaFleur still provided the quote above during Friday’s media session. LaFleur later pointed out that rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs needed to be ready to “take more of a load this week” during the game.
Will Lazard Play in Week 3?
The Friday practice is encouraging, so signs seem to be pointing to the veteran receiver being ready to play this weekend. However, just because he is playing doesn’t mean he can be trusted to complete the game.
As we saw last Sunday against the Bears, Lazard is still working through the ankle/foot injury that forced him to miss Week 1. Lazard played in 81% of the snaps that game but recorded just two catches on three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown.
Lazard may play this weekend, but it is probably still too early to trust him in your fantasy lineups.
