The Seattle Mariners selected North Allegheny High School shortstop Cole Young with the 21st overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft on Sunday. The left-handed hitter doesn't have one tool that jumps off the page, but he has impressive bat-to-ball skills and is able to drive the baseball to all fields. Young has a good chance to stick at the premier position long term as an above-average runner with enough arm and range. The 18-year-old has one of the best hit tools among prep players in this year's draft, and although he should develop some more power, he's likely to be hit over power once he reaches the big leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
