The Tampa Bay Buccaneers restructured the 2022 base salary of nose tackle Vita Vea on Saturday, according to a source. The move frees up $7.64 million worth of salary cap space for the 2022 season. Vea's base salary will be reduced from $10.6 million to $1.12 million, with the remaining amount converted into a signing bonus. Vea signed a four-year, $73 million contract extension with Tampa in January of this year. The 27-year-old is a former first-round pick in 2018. He appeared in 16 games for the Buccaneers last year and had 33 total tackles, five tackles for loss, four sacks, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed. Vea is a vital cog for Tampa's strong run defense in the interior of the defensive line.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
