Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Roman Anthony, Brady House, Chase DeLauter - that can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.
Fantasy managers have seen several high-end prospects become league winners once they get the call to the majors. Last season, Paul Skenes and James Wood were must-start players as soon as they got the call, and likely helped fantasy managers bring home the championship.
In this piece, we will analyze the top prospect in baseball who recently got promoted and two emerging bats who are knocking on the MLB door.
Should those players be left on the waiver wire, or should fantasy managers add them this weekend? Let's dive in!

Roman Anthony, OF, Boston Red Sox
Current Level: MLB
Availability: 45% rostered
2025 MLB stats: 4 G, .067/.167/.133, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 4 SO
The top prospect in baseball made his major league debut on June 9, joining Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer in Boston as the last of their "big three" to be promoted. Once Mayer debuted in May, it seemed only a matter of time before Anthony was called up. A nearly 500-foot grand slam off the bat of the 21-year-old sealed the deal for the Red Sox.
It was finally time to get Anthony to The Show.
Anthony was a second-round selection out of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in 2022. It wasn't a secret that Anthony was talented, but it was during the 2023 campaign that talent evaluators across the league began taking notice of him.
He hit 12 home runs in High-A alongside a .294/.412/.569 slash line. After starting the season in Low-A, he ended it in Double-A, where he posted a 1.020 OPS in 10 games.
Anthony began 2024 there, once again displaying his ability to make consistent hard contact, with 38 extra-base hits, and a selective approach at the plate, which resulted in 48 walks. After 94 career Double-A games, Anthony reached Triple-A, where he didn't miss a beat. He batted .309 with a .940 OPS across 93 games. Considering his young age, his power stroke and plate discipline are highly impressive.
Anthony's debut was highly anticipated, and there's no reason to believe his success in the minors won't translate to the MLB level. His first career hit was a two-run double down the left field line on a two-strike, two-out changeup from Tampa Bay Rays' Ryan Pepiot.

Based on his scouting report, analysts believe he has the potential to hit .300, deliver 30 home runs, and consistently rank among the league leaders in walks. However, injuries to right fielder Wilyer Abreu and third baseman Alex Bregman ultimately forced the Red Sox's hand to promote Anthony and Mayer. Before their placement on the injured list, Boston had nowhere to put them.
Depending on how the pair performs at the MLB level, the team must figure out a way to keep them with the big league club. The Red Sox have found a gem in Anthony, and along with Mayer and Campbell, Boston has a bright future ahead of them. Anthony should be added in all leagues this weekend.

Brady House, 3B, Washington Nationals
Current Level: Triple-A
Availability: 5% rostered
2025 AAA stats: 63 G, .303/.352/.522, 14 2B, 13 HR, 39 RBI, 74 SO
The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help them win any games. You know who might help the Nationals win some games? Brady House.
The Nationals have been looking for offensive answers all season around their two stars, CJ Abrams and James Wood. One of those answers should be House. He's having a great season in Triple-A, having just hit his 13th home run, and he has a batting average over .300.
Brady House hits a two-run homer, his 13th of the season and third this month.

Each day, the Nats are trotting out a lineup with five or six guys with a WRC+ below 100, so they should be able to shift things around to get House into their lineup. House has very little left to prove in the minors and could be called up any day now.
When he does, he should provide good power with a solid average if he can keep the strikeouts low. Given his power upside, he is worth stashing in all 12+ team leagues for the time being. Currently, the Nationals have not received much power production from their current third baseman, Jose Tena, and Amed Rosario.
Over his last nine games, Tena has posted a modest .200/.351/.333 line with a low .685 OPS. While Roasio has held a solid .278 AVG over his last 12 games, during this stretch, he posted a .750 OPS with just three extra-base hits. House would provide a much higher impact bat in the middle of the Washington lineup.

Chase DeLauter, OF, Cleveland Guardians
Current Level: Triple-A
Availability: 5% rostered
2025 AAA stats: 14 G, .250/.400/.396, 4 2B, 1 HR, 12 BB, 9 SO
Chase DeLauter has been one of the most snake-bitten prospects in the minors. When he's on the field, he's shown tremendous upside, but he hasn't been on the field a lot.
He didn't play at all in 2022 after getting drafted in the first round due to a broken foot, and he missed extended time in 2023 with a fractured foot. After dominating in spring training going into 2024 with a 319 WRC+ and four HRs, it looked like he might break camp in Cleveland.
However, the Guardians assigned him to the minors, and he again fractured his foot. He missed the beginning of 2025 recovering from a core and sports hernia injury. Now that he's healthy and playing pretty well, maybe it's time to start treating him like a pitching prospect and stop wasting bullets in the minors.
DeLauter's numbers on the surface aren't super impressive, as he has a 122 WRC+ so far in Triple-A, but he's hitting the ball hard while showing a very impressive eye at the plate. He's walking (20.0%) much more than he strikes out (14.5%).
The Guardians' outfield has been a bit of a revolving door this season, other than Steven Kwan. None of Lane Thomas, Angel Martinez, Nolan Jones, or Johnathan Rodriguez has been particularly impressive, and the Guardians recently sent down Jhonkensy Noel, so there is an opportunity for DeLauter if he can stay healthy and show the Guardians he can help their team win.
When DeLauter gets the call, he also has some platoon risk as the Guardians love to platoon their young left-handed bats. Given that risk and his extreme injury risk, I'd prioritize him in deeper five-outfielder leagues, but he can provide a solid all-around profile when he plays.
Chase DeLauter is bored with AAA pitching. It’s time @IndiansGM
