Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has been one of the more productive running backs since entering the NFL. The former Oklahoma star has had over 1,000 rushing yards in four of the past five seasons where he played at least seven games.
Last year, the veteran had 257 rushing attempts for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bengals. He also had 52 receptions on 64 targets for 376 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Yet, his future with the team is in question.
Mixon had to restructure his contract last offseason to stay with the team. He is entering the final year of his deal in 2024. However, could the veteran end up getting cut this offseason?

Will Joe Mixon Be Cut By The Bengals?
Cincinnati has several decisions this offseason, including whether or not to keep Tee Higgins around long-term. Unfortunately, that could mean Mixon’s time with the Bengals is over. Reportedly, the veteran running back is a potential cut candidate.

According to Over the Cap, Cincinnati can cut Mixon this offseason and save $5.8 million in salary cap space. With Chase Brown showing potential as a rookie, the Bengals might decide to move on from the soon-to-be 28-year-old running back.
Which Teams Could Sign Joe Mixon This Offseason?
However, fans shouldn’t give up on Mixon returning in 2024. The star running back refuted reports on social media, suggesting he expects to be back with the team next season.
Lmao y’all said this last year too 🤦🏽♂️🤣

While Mixon believes he will be back in Cincinnati next year, it’s not guaranteed. However, the former Oklahoma star will have several suitors on the open market.
The Tennessee Titans should be considered front-runners to land Mixon if he gets cut. Former Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan is the new head coach for the Titans. Tennessee likely will let Derrick Henry leave in free agency, creating a hole at running back. Tyjae Spears has significant upside, but the Titans likely don’t want to hand him a featured role.
Another potential landing spot for Mixon is the Houston Texans. The AFC South division winners reportedly want to add a big-name running back in free agency. If they strike out on Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs, Mixon could be a solid consolation prize and an upgrade over Devin Singletary.
