Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:

Rashee Rice, WR, Chiefs
Trade Value: 82.7
ROS Rank: 10

The Kansas City Chiefs said that wide receiver Rashee Rice was going to be heavily involved in the offensive game plan in his season debut in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday after serving his six-game suspension, and they were not lying. Rice picked up right where he left off last year, securing seven of his 10 targets for 42 yards and his first two touchdowns of 2025 in the team's 31-0 blowout win over the Raiders.

The 25-year-old led the team in targets and catches on the day and reminded everyone why he was quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite target in the passing game last year before he suffered a season-ending knee injury. Rice's longest catch of the game only went for 12 yards, but fantasy managers have to be very pleased with what they saw from him in his season debut.

Now that he's back from suspension, Rice should be locked and loaded into all starting fantasy lineups for a Monday night matchup in Week 8 against the Washington Commanders and their porous secondary.

Verdict: Buy-high if you can, the breakout is real

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Patriots
Trade Value: 18.8
ROS Rank: 111

New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson had only two carries (on nine offensive snaps) for five yards in the 31-13 blowout win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 on Sunday, while backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson saw a season-high 18 carries and scored a touchdown. "It's just kinda how it played out. Thought Rhamondre was running well. Had some good protections. TreVeyon's gonna be a large part of what we do ... that's just kind of where it was this week," head coach Mike Vrabel said when asked about Henderson's sparse usage.

It was especially concerning that Henderson barely played with the Patriots having a comfortable lead in the second half. Stevenson has had his share of fumbling issues, but he hasn't put the ball on the ground in the last two weeks and was very efficient on Sunday. The 22-year-old Henderson should get more involved in the offense eventually, but right now, it's hard to trust him as even an RB3/flex in fantasy lineups.

Verdict: Avoid in trades

D'Andre Swift, RB, Bears
Trade Value: 46.8
ROS Rank: 47

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, according to the team. Swift was limited in practice last week due to the injury, but still managed a season-high 19 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown, along with one reception for 14 yards in Week 7 against the Saints.

The 26-year-old has maintained a consistent workload in Chicago's backfield with at least 15 touches in every game and has been surging of late, becoming the fourth running back this season to rush for over 100 yards in consecutive games after his last two games. His injury status will be updated throughout the week, and if he is unable to play on Sunday, rookie Kyle Monangai would likely handle the majority of the touches.

Verdict: Buy-low if possible for a reasonable price due to injury concern

Chase Brown, RB, Bengals
Trade Value: 36.2
ROS Rank: 64

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown had 11 carries for 108 yards and added two catches for minus-eight yards on Thursday night against the Steelers. It was the most productive game of the season for Brown as he went over 100 rushing yards for the first time since Week 9 of last season. Coming into the game, he had just 304 total yards from scrimmage and one touchdown in six games.

But he was able to find plenty of running room against a Pittsburgh defense that had been tough against opposing running backs. His snap share also rebounded to 63.2% in this one after being closer to 50% in the previous two games. Hopefully, this signals better days ahead for Brown as the Cincinnati offense is trending in the right direction with Joe Flacco under center.

Verdict: Buy low if you still can, worth a chance with Flacco revitalizing offense

Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers
Trade Value: 26.5
ROS Rank: 88

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) is set to miss another practice on Wednesday, according to David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard. Pearsall has missed the last three games due to a PCL sprain in his knee and is headed towards a fourth straight missed game this weekend against the Houston Texans if he cannot return to practice later this week.

The 25-year-old was in a prime position to rack up valuable targets earlier this year with tight end George Kittle on Injured Reserve and receiver Jauan Jennings dealing with multiple injuries, but he wasn't able to take advantage. Kittle made his return in Sunday night's win over the Atlanta Falcons, but wasn't able to catch either of his two targets. He should have a bigger role on offense this weekend, and Jennings and Kendrick Bourne should be the top wideouts again if Pearsall misses another game.

Verdict: Avoid in trades

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Rashee Rice, Chase Brown, TreVeyon Henderson, D'Andre Swift, Zay Flowers, Puka Nacua, Ricky Pearsall. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
