Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 12:

Josh Jacobs, RB, Packers
Trade Value: 71
ROS Rank: 19

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that running back Josh Jacobs (knee) suffered a knee contusion in the Week 11 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Injured Reserve is not a consideration, and it's possible that Jacobs could be ready to play in Week 12 on Sunday against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. There have been reports suggesting that the 27-year-old is week-to-week as well. Jacobs' status for Week 12 will depend on how much he can do in practice this week, so we'll be keeping a close eye on his status from Wednesday through Friday.

If he ends up being held out this Sunday, Emanuel Wilson is expected to take over lead-back duties in Green Bay, which will make him a popular short-term waiver-wire pickup this week. Wilson played 71% of the offensive snaps on Sunday against the Giants.

Verdict: Potential buy candidate with injury scare that isn't considered long-term

Kareem Hunt, RB, Chiefs
Trade Value: 20.5
ROS Rank: 104

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt scored a rushing touchdown for the third consecutive game in his team's 22-19 Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. The 30-year-old finished the game with 13 carries for 59 yards and one score. With Isiah Pacheco (knee) sidelined by a knee injury, Hunt has taken over as Kansas City's lead rusher in the team's last two games. While he's not an explosive player at this point in his career, Hunt has six rushing touchdowns on the season and has proven to be an effective goal-line rusher.

Pacheco could return in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts, which would cause Hunt to lose a few touches. However, Hunt seems likely to retain his goal-line role even when Pacheco gets back on the field. In leagues where Hunt remains available, he could be worth targeting on the waiver wire as a touchdown-dependent flex option for fantasy managers.

Verdict: Buy at fair value for touchdown-or-bust flex play or sell at high price

Troy Franklin, WR, Broncos
Trade Value: 20.8
ROS Rank: 102

Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin led the team in receiving yards and tied for the lead in targets in Sunday's 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. With eight targets on the night, Franklin caught four of them for 84 yards and no touchdowns.

Coming down the stretch, Franklin actually made the key play of the night with a 32-yard reception to put kicker Wil Lutz within comfortable field goal range for the game-winning field goal. Franklin has proven that his presence in the Broncos' offense is here to stay, and it will be intriguing to see if they get him even more looks after the Week 12 bye.

Verdict: Buy after bye week as potential clear WR1 in Denver

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 12 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Ricky Pearsall, Khalil Shakir, Josh Jacobs, Jake Ferguson, Troy Franklin, Brock Bowers, and Kareem Hunt. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
