Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers second-year running back out of Troy University, Kimani Vidal, is expected to step up in Week 6 after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on injured reserve over the past week, and (Vidal) offers flex appeal as the Chargers travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins, who rank in the bottom five against opposing running backs in fantasy football.
Vidal will likely be in a timeshare with fourth-year running back Hassan Haskins, who played at Michigan, where head coach Jim Harbaugh coached. Reports have yet to suggest that either running back will get the full workload, but based on past usage, Vidal is the younger, more pass-catching, third-down back, while Haskins should see carries on early downs.
With how pass-happy the Chargers have been in 2025, throwing 62.58% of the time, in PPR leagues, Vidal should see four to six targets in the pass game, along with five to 10 carries, offering him some flex appeal in Week 6.
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) could be in for a significant workload in Week 6, assuming he's healthy enough to play. Through three games this season, Jennings has caught nine of 19 targets for 129 yards and a touchdown, ranking as the WR40 on a per-game basis. The fifth-year wideout has battled through a string of injuries, including calf, ankle, shoulder, and rib injuries, that have limited his availability early in the year.
Jennings returned to practice on Monday, which is a positive sign, especially with second-year receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) trending in the opposite direction. If Pearsall is unable to suit up, Jennings would likely operate as the 49ers' WR1 heading into Week 6.
Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on San Francisco's midweek injury reports, as Wednesday and Thursday's updates will be crucial in determining Jennings' and Pearsall's availability against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson could be in line for an increased workload moving forward. Through five games, Stevenson has totaled 38 carries for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 13 receptions for 154 yards through the air. With Antonio Gibson (knee) out for the season due to a torn ACL, both Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson should see expanded roles in the offense.
While Henderson has been used sparingly to this point, Stevenson remains the most trusted option in New England's backfield. Despite leading the NFL in fumbles, the Patriots continue to rely on him in high-leverage situations, including the red zone. The team's faith in him makes Stevenson an intriguing buy-low candidate for fantasy managers. The Patriots face the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, a defense that has allowed the ninth-most PPR fantasy points to running backs this season.
With more carries ahead and a favorable matchup, Stevenson profiles as a low-end RB2 in Week 6.
Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell "looked like a lead back" in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings and "has earned more time," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. With Steelers RB1 Jaylen Warren (knee) missing the team's final game before their bye week, Gainwell logged 134 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns on 25 total touches.
Per Fowler, the Steelers are "hoping there are plenty of carries for both" running backs going forward. When Warren is healthy, Gainwell's role will likely be somewhat limited. Still, Gainwell should be a priority waiver wire addition heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He carries FLEX appeal even if Warren were to return to action.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
In addressing the media on Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin included running back Jaylen Warren (knee) in a group of players for which he said the "arrow [was] pointed up" going into Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. Warren was off to an excellent start to the season, due in large part to his heavy usage in the passing game, but a knee injury caused him to miss the Steelers' Week 4 game against the Vikings in Ireland.
Warren has now had a bye week to recover, and he has been participating in individual drills this week. The Steelers face a stout Cleveland defense in Week 6, so Warren is by no means a must-start if he's available, but his pass-catching should provide a safe floor, particularly in PPR formats. If Warren is cleared to play, he would hold solid RB2 value in PPR leagues and high FLEX upside in standard formats.
