Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Emari Demercado, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado had a Week 5 to forget, as he dropped the ball for a fumble just before crossing the goal line on what should have been a long touchdown run. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that Demercado will maintain his role in the offense despite the error. Still, Demercado appears to be limited to a third-down role in the Cardinals' backfield.
Veteran back Michael Carter assumed lead rushing responsibilities in Week 5, the team's first full game without top running backs James Conner (ankle) and Trey Benson (knee). Arizona takes on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, who are tied for first in the NFL in fewest rushing touchdowns allowed (two). Demercado recorded just three total touches in Week 5 and should not be expected to see significantly more work in Week 6.
Demercado profiles as a low-end flex option in deep leagues in Week 6 against the Colts.
Bhyshul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten (shoulder) has no injury designation for Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. He was listed as a limited practice participant all week, just as he has the past few weeks. With Travis Etienne Jr. taking control of the backfield, Tuten has been nothing but a touchdown-dependent backup so far this season.
He has been solid in limited play time (two touchdowns, 3.5 yards per carry), but without an injury to Etienne, Tuten has no short-term value. He seems like an exciting prospect in dynasty, but in redraft, managers will have to continue waiting for Tuten to get his chance before he becomes fantasy relevant.
Justice Hill, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill has hit one very high output among many lows so far this season. His biggest value continues to be in full PPR formats, and the fact that the Ravens' defense has been so terrible that the offense has to abandon the run early. Hill has only registered one week finishing in the top 30 at the position, and has one more finish inside the top 36.
The Los Angeles Rams are one of the toughest defenses against opposing backfields, which diminishes his value even further, even though Cooper Rush will likely have plenty of dump-off throws. Hill is projected as the RB51 and is avoidable in most league sizes this week.
Malik Washington, WR, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington had his busiest game of the season in Week 5 against the Panthers. He played about his normal amount of snaps but set a season-high with four catches on his five targets. He ended up with no yards on those four catches, but he did seem to get a little more work with Tyreek Hill (knee) unavailable for the first time this year.
Washington has shown big-play ability in the return game, but he hasn't been able to get loose for any big receptions. He'll have a tough matchup this week against the Chargers, which is why he's only the WR57 in RotoBaller's rankings, but he does bring boom-or-bust potential if you need a deep league or DFS flier at receiver.
Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears is not a reliable fantasy option heading into Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Spears returned from injured reserve last weekend, rushing for 14 yards on four carries in his season debut. The 24-year-old played one-quarter of the offensive snaps, and reporting out of Tennessee indicates that the Titans are gradually going to get Spears more involved.
Tony Pollard has run well enough in the lead-back role to justify easing Spears into a split backfield, rather than feeding him double-digit touches in his first couple of weeks back. As a result, managers will need to continue expressing patience with the young running back. He's not a reliable fantasy starter this week, while Pollard is headed for a sizable role once again.
