Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 17:
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Given the sheer amount of volume Barkley has had recently and his 5.3 yards per carry since Week 14, he's primed for a huge day. While he's been relatively uninvolved in the passing game recently, having just two receptions over his last four outings, it shouldn't matter much this weekend. Barkley looks like himself again, and he's a mid-tier RB1 as fantasy playoffs near their end.
De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
The Bucs have been a fairly neutral matchup for running backs this season, giving up 14 RB touchdowns in 15 games with an average of 53.6 receiving yards out of the backfield for the position. Achane is the No. 7 RB in the RotoBaller Week 17 rankings, making him a strong start in most standard-sized leagues, since he's been a fantasy stalwart despite his team's struggles this season.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks
This is a must-win game for both teams. There is a path for Carolina to clinch its division this week, and the Seahawks need this win to vie for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. As such, this could be a higher-scoring game than many may expect. If Carolina's offense can put some pressure on Seattle's defense, it will only serve to boost Smith-Njigba's targets if Seattle needs to continually air the ball out. Start JSN as your anchor during championship week and do not look back.
Chris Godwin Jr., WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The veteran wideout appears to have good chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Bucs have a lot of mouths to feed, but Godwin has earned some trust with a steady target share. Fantasy managers should be able to plug in Godwin as a reliable WR3 for Week 17, albeit with a low floor and ceiling.
Davante Adams, WR, Los Angeles Rams
The Rams' goal is to "ensure Adams is 100 percent for the first week of the playoffs." Adams is currently considered week-to-week after aggravating his hamstring injury on Dec. 14 against the Detroit Lions. The Rams held him out of last Thursday's overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have him the rest of the way. Konata Mumpfield, along with star Puka Nacua, could be the biggest beneficiary in L.A.'s passing attack if Adams misses two more games.
