Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 17:

Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett had a rough week against the Falcons in Week 16, but he should be poised to bounce back in a big way against the Bengals in Week 17. Brissett has thrown multiple touchdowns in eight of his previous nine games, but he only threw for one score and a season-low 203 passing yards last week against Atlanta.

The Bengals have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, allowing 30 QB touchdowns (passing and rushing) in 15 games, along with an average of 256 passing yards per week. In what should be a much better matchup, Brissett can be a great addition and streaming play in Week 17 if you need help at the position.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 29 of his 49 pass attempts for 457 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Thursday's Week 16 loss against the Seattle Seahawks. He also rushed for six yards and didn't take a sack. Although the Rams came up short, Stafford delivered a fantastic final stat line for his fantasy managers. Not only did he set a new season-high in fantasy points, but he also delivered his highest passing yards total since 2013, more than a dozen years ago.

As a result, this was also his highest passing yards total as a Ram. The veteran quarterback managed to have such a spectacular performance despite being without Davante Adams (hamstring) against a strong Seahawks defense. Instead, he found Puka Nacua for 12 completions, 225 yards, and two touchdowns, while the rest of his pass-catchers accounted for the remaining volume. Stafford remains a high-end QB1 heading into a very favorable Week 17 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow needed a bounce-back game after throwing two interceptions during last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow delivered a massive performance for fantasy managers during Sunday's 45-21 win over the Miami Dolphins. The 29-year-old completed 25-of-32 passing attempts for 309 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for six yards on two attempts during Sunday's victory.

He connected with Tee Higgins for a nine-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He would later find running back Chase Brown for two short-yardage scores in the third quarter. Burrow would finish off his day with a 17-yard touchdown to Mike Gesicki in the fourth quarter. Burrow is back to his elite ways and will get a promising matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.

Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said quarterback Jordan Love (concussion) is still in the NFL's concussion protocol, which is a "process that takes multiple days to get through." Love was forced to exit early from Green Bay's Week 16 loss to the Chicago Bears after suffering a concussion, and his availability for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens will remain up in the air until he can clear the protocol.

Across 15 games this season, the 27-year-old has completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Love was replaced in Week 16 by quarterback Malik Willis (shoulder), who is dealing with a shoulder injury of his own. If neither Love nor Willis is available for Week 17, Green Bay would likely elevate quarterback Clayton Tune from the practice squad to the active roster.

Tyler Shough, QB, New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough hit a milestone during Sunday's Week 16 matchup with the New York Jets. The second-round rookie has been impressive since taking over under center, and his success continued on Sunday. Shough completed 32-of-49 passing attempts for a career-high 308 yards and a touchdown in the win.

He added eight rushing yards on two attempts. The Saints have a banged-up offense right now, but that hasn't stopped Shough from making plays. The rookie quarterback will take a three-game winning streak into a favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 17.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a serious contusion to his back and is considered day-to-day, coach John Harbaugh said, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. Harbaugh also said, "It doesn't look like it's more than that. He's in there getting treatment now." Jackson was kneed in the back on a run play during the Sunday night loss to the New England Patriots.

Before his exit, Jackson went seven-for-10 for 101 passing yards, along with two carries for seven rushing yards. The Ravens remain hopeful that Jackson can return to play soon as they continue to fight for a playoff spot. If Jackson is unable to play in Week 17, Tyler Huntley will be forced to start on the road against the Green Bay Packers.
