Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said that wide receiver Drake London (knee), who is considered day-to-day, will practice on Wednesday so the team can see where he's at, according to Terrin Waack of AtlantaFalcons.com. Morris said on Monday that he's "very hopeful" that London will return in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals. Wednesday will be the first time that the 24-year-old has practiced since spraining his left PCL back in Week 11. He's not a lock to play on Sunday against Arizona, but his return to practice at least gives his fantasy managers hope that he might be available this weekend.

Tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. has had a much higher ceiling with London out, as evidenced by his monster 11-catch, 166-yard, three-touchdown spectacle last Thursday night. London is typically a must-start WR1 in fantasy when he's active, but he'll be a bit more volatile in Week 16 if he returns and is on a snap count.

Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions

Across seven games before his team's Week 8 bye, Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams had recorded just 17 receptions and looked like he was headed towards a disappointing year. However, the 24-year-old has had a breakout second half of the 2025 season and is now up to 52 receptions for 936 yards and seven touchdowns on 81 targets across 14 games. Over his last three games in particular, Williams has been dominant, hauling in 21 catches for 374 yards and two touchdowns on 28 targets.

With Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (back) on Injured Reserve, Williams has emerged as the clear number two option in the Detroit passing game. With their defense struggling, the Lions have also been forced into more pass-heavy game scripts, leading quarterback Jared Goff to average 36 pass attempts per game over the last five contests. Between LaPorta's injury and Detroit's tendency to find itself in shootouts, Williams should see plenty more opportunities for production heading into matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings over the next two weeks.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts

In 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers' first NFL game in five years with the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the hosting Seattle Seahawks, wide receiver Josh Downs caught his lone touchdown pass. Downs played a season-high 72% of the offensive snaps in Week 15 in Rivers' first game replacing Daniel Jones, who is out for the year with a torn Achilles. The 24-year-old wideout was tied for second on the team with five targets, catching three of them for only 13 yards and his fourth touchdown of the year.

All in all, it wasn't anything special for fantasy football production, but it was notable that Downs tied Michael Pittman Jr. in targets, with Alec Pierce seeing just one look from Rivers. With Rivers shotputting balls to his receivers, Downs could become a more attractive short-area target over Pierce to close out the season, making him worth a look off the waiver wire as WR depth. Downs is rostered in 43% of Yahoo leagues.

Jayden Higgins, WR, Houston Texans

Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins was held to just one target for the fifth time this season in Sunday's 40-20 blowout win over the visiting Arizona Cardinals. He caught one pass for a gain of four yards. The 23-year-old has four receptions on six targets for just 38 yards and no touchdowns in the last two games. The last time that Higgins had only one target came on Nov. 2 against the Denver Broncos. Higgins had a streak of five games with at least five targets from Weeks 9 to 14 before seeing just one look from quarterback C.J. Stroud on Sunday.

The second-rounder from Iowa State ranks third on the team with 397 receiving yards in 14 games this year, adding four touchdowns. While Higgins has been quiet the last two games, he's a good bet to bounce back with a strong game for fantasy managers in deeper leagues as a flex play in an excellent Week 16 matchup against the last-place Raiders. Higgins is rostered in 43% of Yahoo leagues, so he's widely available.

Javonte Williams, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams (neck) was listed as a limited participant due to a neck injury on Wednesday, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. Williams suffered a neck/shoulder injury in the Sunday night loss to the Minnesota Vikings shortly after a touchdown plunge on the team's first drive of the game in the first quarter. The 25-year-old sat out the rest of the first half, but he eventually returned in the second half and finished with 15 carries for 91 yards and the one touchdown while playing only 28% of the snaps.

Williams should be able to play this weekend against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, but fantasy managers will want to continue monitoring his status leading up to Sunday's game. If Williams is limited at all or out, Malik Davis, who had 10 touches for 37 yards and a touchdown in Week 15, would become Dallas' lead back.
