Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 17? Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, Bryce Young

Bryce Young - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Who should I start for Week 17? Fantasy football outlooks for Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, Bryce Young. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

Happy Holidays, RotoBallers! Week 17 has already begun with a few games on Christmas Day. Congratulations to those of you still playing in fantasy football championships! We hope our team was able to assist you along the way.

This article examines the player outlooks and matchups for Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, and Bryce Young. Each quarterback has experienced some ups and downs in 2024, but all have promising futures in the NFL.

I will review recent statistics for these quarterbacks and recommend whether they should be in your starting lineup for Week 17.

Should I Start Jordan Love for Fantasy Football?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was quiet and didn't have to do a lot of heavy lifting in Week 16. The Packers beat the New Orleans Saints 34-0. Love was 16-of-28 passing for 182 yards and one touchdown. In competitive games, Love has been expected to do a lot more, and with the Packers going to U.S. Bank Stadium to take on the Vikings (13-2), fantasy managers can expect a lot of volume for Love this week.

Love's production has been limited because the Packers have been leaning on their star running back, Josh Jacobs, who has been running all over opposing defenses. The Vikings have a stout run defense but are vulnerable in the passing game. This game's total is 48.5, so Vegas expects a shootout.

On the season, Love is ranked as the QB17, and RotoBaller ranks have him as our QB8 this week. Love is a mid-tier QB1 this week, and fantasy managers can expect a big game from him on Sunday.

Should I Start Tua Tagovailoa for Fantasy Football?

INJURY UPDATE: Tua Tagovailoa was downgraded to DOUBTFUL for Week 17 on Saturday afternoon.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 22 of 34 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown in the 29-17 Week 16 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Tagovailoa has struggled the last few weeks, combining for only 17 fantasy points. Before the last two weeks, Tagovailoa had scored 20-plus points in four consecutive weeks.

The Dolphins travel to Ohio this week to take on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns rank middle-of-the-pack against opposing quarterbacks; however, the Dolphins are notorious for not performing well offensively in the cold weather. With the uncertainty of Jaylen Waddle (knee) and the dip in production for Tyreek Hill, Tagovailoa may continue his cold streak.

RotoBaller ranks him as our QB15 this week. Fantasy managers should consider looking elsewhere in Week 17 if they have better options. Tagovailoa is a fringe QB1 in Week 17.

Should I Start Bryce Young for Fantasy Football?

What a year it's been for Carolina Panthers second-year signal caller Bryce Young. He got off to a slow start and was benched, and since his return to the lineup, he has shown people why he was drafted first overall in the 2023 NFL draft. Last week versus the Arizona Cardinals, Young threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, adding 68 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Although the Panthers' offense has looked better of late, and their fans should be more optimistic about the outlook for the future, it's still challenging to trust Young as anything more than a QB2 from a fantasy football outlook. The Panthers travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers, who have given up the second most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

RotoBaller ranks him as our QB16 this week. The matchup on paper is ideal, so for fantasy managers who don't have a top-ten quarterback or are dealing with a potential replacement if someone like Jalen Hurts (concussion) doesn't play, Young would be a good look. Young also faced the Buccaneers' defense in Week 13 and scored 24 fantasy points.
