Tyler Johnson fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 2 (2024). Should you start or sit Tyler Johnson in your fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4/WR5
ANALYSIS: Rams wide receiver Tyler Johnson had a solid game in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. With fellow Rams WR Puka Nacua going on injured reserve, there is more opportunity for Johnson and WRs Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington to earn opportunities. However, none have separated themselves.
Whittington, a rookie, impressed in the preseason and Robinson has been the clear WR3 for the team (at least on the depth chart) since camp. Both Robinson and Johnson received seven targets last game. Whittington didn't do much, but most rookies don't in their first NFL action.
Johnson did have a nice play where he picked up a bunch of YAC and showcased some nice moves.

Unfortunately for Johnson, he's been buried on depth charts for some time and never received significant playing time or volume. Robinson and Whittington have both impressed this offseason, so it may be tough for Johnson to distinguish himself. The targets should be spread relatively evenly to Rams WRs not named Cooper Kupp.
For now, Robinson is probably the guy to play most of the snaps. The Rams run three-WR sets at a high rate, but they could rotate the third receiver heavily. It's too early to start Johnson, but it's worth keeping an eye on the WR3 position battle if someone distinguishes himself by the time Nacua returns.
