BALLER MOVE: Sit In All Formats
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR7
ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Trenton Irwin shouldn't be on the fantasy football radar for the team's Week 16 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as he's struggled in recent weeks.
There were a few times this season where it looked like Irwin was on his way to being a key contributor for the Bengals, including a Week 5 game where he was targeted 10 times, but those moments have been fleeting.
Over the past four games, Irwin's role has essentially evaporated. In that span, he's totaled two receptions for 50 yards, which came in Week 12 and Week 13. Over the last two games, Irwin hasn't even been targeted. Last week against the Vikings, Irwin played just 10 offensive snaps.
Even with Ja'Marr Chase set to miss this week's game with a shoulder injury, it's hard to see Irwin really making an impact. He might play more snaps, but he's fourth in line at best for targets in this offense behind Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Tanner Hudson, and that's not even including pass attempts that could go to one of the team's running backs. There's no reason to start Irwin in fantasy. The upside of Irwin surprisingly going off isn't worth the risk of him putting up another goose egg.
