Texas NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes

Ty Gibbs - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR Practice Speeds, Notes, and Lap Averages. Use these NASCAR stats and info to build lineups on DraftKings for the the 2024 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday morning in preparation for the upcoming Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 on Sunday afternoon.

The 38-car field was split into two groups for this practice session. Below you'll find the two practice groups, key notes from the practice session and the practice speeds for all drivers.

The track was significantly faster for Group A than it was for Group B. To get a true idea of who is fast this weekend, you essentially have to compare the two groups separately as opposed to the entire field--just like last weekend at Richmond.

Important Practice Notes

Kyle Busch - Busch spun his No. 8 Chevrolet coming out of turn two during practice and backed the race car into the wall. There was quite a bit of damage, and Busch will have to go to a backup car for the race.

Jimmie Johnson - The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion is racing this weekend in the No. 84 Toyota for Legacy Motor Club. He has made four starts in the NextGen era and hasn't finished better than 28th. During practice this weekend, Johnson got loose and hit the wall. He will not be going to a backup car, though.

Austin Hill - Austin Hill is making his first Cup Series start of the season this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. He made five starts last season and had an average finish of 26.0 with a best finish of 14th at Daytona.
