Andy's 2025 NFL Draft re-do. Which rookies should have each team selected during the 2025 NFL Draft. Which teams got it right or wrong on draft day?

2025 NFL Draft Do-Over: Full First Round Shuffle
With the 2025 NFL Draft behind us, it is time to do a redo of the first round. While some teams made the right call and selected the best player on the board, some teams reached for a position of need. We will not incorporate any trades in this mock draft. Did your favorite team make the right pick? Let’s dive in!

No. 1: Tennessee Titans
Original Pick: Cam Ward, QB
New Pick: Travis Hunter, WR/DB
While the Tennessee Titans did not make the wrong pick selecting Cam Ward first overall, Travis Hunter was the best overall prospect in this year’s class. Last season in Colorado, the two-way superstar won the Hesiman Trophy. On offense, he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award and captured the Ronnie Lott Trophy on defense. Hunter would be the foundational piece of their rebuild.

No. 2: Cleveland Browns
Original Pick: Travis Hunter WR/DB (selected by Jacksonville)
New Pick: Cam Ward, QB
With the Titans passing on Cam Ward, the Browns would find their franchise QB at the No. 2 spot. Last season in Miami, Ward was the top signal caller in the nation, throwing 39 passing scores with a stellar 172.2 rating. He threw for 4,319 yards and added 204 on the ground. Ward would open the season as their QB1 with Deshaun Watson expected to miss time with an Achilles injury.

No. 3: New York Giants
Original Pick: Abdul Carter, DE
New Pick: Will Campbell, OT
While Abdul Carter was an excellent selection, an alternative could have been the top offensive lineman in the class, Will Campbell of LSU. Last season, Campbell was a consensus All-American and served as the foundation of their offensive line. While the Giants do not have a future quarterback, he would provide much-needed protection for Russell Wilson.

No. 4: New England Patriots
Original Pick: Will Campbell, OT
New Pick: Abdul Carter, DE
With the Giants opting to select the top offensive tackle, the Patriots would select defensive end Abdul Carter. Last season, the Patriots tallied the fewest sacks in the sport (28). Last season, Carter was an elite contributor on the Penn State defensive line. He led the Big Ten in tackles-for-loss. He logged 12 sacks and forced two fumbles. He would become the foundation of a young New England defense.

No. 5: Jacksonville Jaguars
Original Pick: Mason Graham, DT (selected by the Cleveland)
New Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB
While in the real NFL Draft, the Jaguars traded with the Cleveland Browns to move up to the No. 2 spot, in this draft, they will instead stay at their fifth spot and select running back Ashton Jeanty. Last season, Travis Etienne had a disappointing season, and Jeanty would provide a much-needed spark in the backfield. Last season at BYU, he ran for 2,601 yards and punched in 29 scores.

No. 6: Las Vegas Raiders
Original Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB
New Pick: Armand Membou, OT
Last season, the Raiders allowed the eighth-most sacks in the league. Offensive tackle Armand Membou would provide much-needed depth to their offensive line. The Vegas offense was near the bottom of the sport, tallying the seventh-fewest total yards per game. Membou will provide elite blocking for newly acquired quarterback Geno Smith.

No. 7: New York Jets
Original Pick: Armand Membou, OT
New Pick: Tyler Warren, TE
With Davante Adams departing in free agency, the Jets lack proven pass catchers outside of Garrett Wilson. With the seventh overall pick, the Jets would have instead selected tight end Tyler Warren. Last season, the Jets did not have much production at the tight end position. Warren was a focal point of the Penn State offense, leading the Big Ten in receptions. He will be a strong option for Justin Fields in the middle of the field.

No. 8: Carolina Panthers
Original Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR
New Pick: Mykel Williams, DE
In 2024, the Carolina Panthers had one of the worst defensive units in the sport. They tallied just 32 sacks (which was tied for the third-lowest mark in the league) and allowed the most yards per game (404.4). In addition, the Panthers also allowed the most points per game (31.4). Adding top defensive end prospect Mykel Williams would provide a much-needed boost to their defensive line. During his three seasons at Georgia, Williams won a National Championship and logged 14 sacks and 67 combined tackles.

No. 9: New Orleans Saints
Original Pick: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT
New Pick: Jaxson Dart, QB
With Derek Carr deciding to end his playing career early, the New Orleans Saints will have a great opportunity to “re-do” their first-round pick by selecting quarterback Jaxson Dart. While many projected the Saints to select a quarterback in the actual draft, they opted to select offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. Last season at Ole Miss, Dart led the SEC in passing yards (4,279) and rating (180.7). He would immediately enter the season as the QB1 over Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener.

No. 10: Chicago Bears
Original Pick: Colston Loveland, TE
New Pick: Tyler Booker, OG
Caleb Williams had a disappointing rookie campaign, and most of his struggles were due to his poor offensive line. In 2024, the Bears allowed the most sacks in the NFL (68). As a result, Williams struggled to find consistency in the Chicago offense. He only threw for over 200 yards in eight of his games. Tyler Booker would provide another strong option in the interior of the Chicago line.

No. 11: San Francisco 49ers
Original Pick: Mykel Williams, DE
New Pick: Mason Graham, DT
With Mykel Williams already off the board, the 49ers will pivot to Michigan’s Mason Graham. During his three-year career at Michigan, Graham won a National Championship and logged 108 combined tackles. He tallied nine sacks and added 18 tackles for loss. He was named a consensus All-American during his final season. He would immediately impact a disappointing San Francisco defense that tallied the ninth fewest sacks and allowed the fourth-most points in 2024.

No. 12: Dallas Cowboys
Original Pick: Tyler Booker, OG
New Pick: Omarion Hampton, RB
With Rico Dowdle leaving for Carolina in free agency, the Cowboys lacked a true playmaker in the backfield. While they added depth options in Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, neither flashed elite playmaking ability in 2024. Omarion Hampton would be viewed as the RB1 in Dallas on Day 1 and would play a significant role in leading them back to the playoffs. Hampton has led the ACC in rushing yards in each of the past two seasons.

No. 13: Miami Dolphins
Original Pick: Kenneth Grant, DT
New Pick: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT
The Miami Dolphins’ 2024 season went on a downward trajectory as soon as Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. The entire offense took a significant step back. Once he returned, they began to get back on track but were unable to complete their late-season push for a wild card. As a result, the Dolphins should have opted to bolster their offensive line in the opening round of the draft. In 2024, Kelvin Banks Jr. was a consensus All-American and won the John Outland Trophy.

No. 14: Indianapolis Colts
Original Pick: Tyler Warren, TE
New Pick: Colston Loveland, TE
With the Colts having a glaring need at tight end, they opt to select the other top remaining option at the position, Colston Loveland. Last season, the No. 1 tight end in Indianapolis (Mo Alie-Cox) caught just 12 passes for 147 yards and a score. Loveland would provide a significant boost to the passing attack, especially in the middle of the field. During his final season in Michigan, Loveland caught 56 passes for 582 yards and five scores.

No. 15: Atlanta Falcons
Original Pick: Jalon Walker, LB
New Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB
The pass rush was a major weakness for the Falcons during the 2024 season. Last season, the Falcons finished the campaign with the second-fewest sacks (31) and, as a result, allowed the 11th-most passing yards per game. After appearing in only nine games during his first season in Alabama, Campbell became a lead option on the defense. Over his final two seasons, Campbell logged 16 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and 184 combined tackles.

No. 16: Arizona Cardinals
Original Pick: Walter Nolen, DT
New Pick: Jahdae Barron, DB
The Arizona Cardinals will be the first to select a defensive back in this “re-do.” In 2024, Barron enjoyed a career year in Texas. He led the SEC in interceptions (5) and logged 67 combined tackles. He tallied 47 solo tackles and added three tackles for loss. He was also named consensus All-American and won the Jim Thorpe Award. He would continue to bolster an Arizona secondary that allowed the 15th-fewest passing yards per game last season.

No. 17: Cincinnati Bengals
Original Pick: Shemar Stewart, DE
New Pick: Will Johnson, DB
One of the biggest surprises on Draft Day was Michigan defensive back Will Johnson’s fall out of the first round. Johnson and Barron were both considered top defensive prospects in the class during the pre-draft process. However, some teams expressed concern about a knee injury that could have long-term effects. At the No. 17 spot, the Bengals are able to add depth to their struggling secondary. Last season, the Bengals allowed the seventh-most points per game.

No. 18: Seattle Seahawks
Original Pick: Grey Zabel, OG
New Pick: Jalon Walker, LB
The Seahawks get a great value pick with Jalon Walker at the No. 18 spot. Walker spent all three seasons of his collegiate career with the Georgia Bulldogs. He tallied 12.5 career sacks and added 89 combined tackles. Last season, he tallied a career-best 11 tackles for loss. Walker will add more depth to a defense that finished near the middle of the pack last season. In 2024, the Seahawks allowed the 12th-fewest PPG and tallied the 10th-most sacks.

No. 19: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Original Pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR
New Pick: Malaki Starks, S
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had an elite offense in 2024 but often struggled to defend the pass. While they allowed just 97.8 rushing yards per game, the Tampa Bay secondary surrendered the fourth-most passing yards per game. As a result, with both Barron and Johnson off the board, the Buccaneers select the top safety in the class, Malaki Starks. Starks was a National Champion and a consensus All-American during three seasons at Georgia.

No. 20: Denver Broncos
Original Pick: Jahdae Barron, DB
New Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR
Outside of Courtland Sutton, the Denver Broncos did not have much consistency in their passing attack last season. Marvin Mims showed flashes of potential late in the season but was never able to emerge as a consistent option in the passing attack. As a result, the Broncos will opt to take the second wide receiver off the board in Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona. Last season, McMillan led the Big 12 in receiving yards (1,319) and found the back of the end zone eight times.

No. 21: Pittsburgh Steelers
Original Pick: Derrick Harmon, DT
New Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB
With the Pittsburgh Steelers entering the draft with only Mason Rudolph on their roster, they will use their first-round pick and select Shedeur Sanders of Colorado. While Sanders was not selected until Day 3 of the actual draft, during the pre-draft process, many experts projected him to be one of the first players off the board. Last season in Colorado, Sanders was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year as he led the conference in passing yards, passing scores, and passer rating.

No. 22: Los Angeles Chargers
Original Pick: Omarion Hampton, RB
New Pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR
While Ladd McConkey emerged as a true WR1 down the stretch, the Chargers do not have other proven options on their depth chart. Last season, the No. 2 option, Quentin Johnston, struggled to catch the ball, bringing in just 55 of his 91 targets during the regular season. In their Wild Card loss to the Texans, he was unable to catch any of his five targets. Egbuka eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark twice during his Ohio State career and would be an elite No. 2 option, opposite of McConkey.

No. 23: Green Bay Packers
Original Pick: Matthew Golden, WR
New Pick: Grey Zabel, OG
The Green Bay Packers take the value play and snag offensive guard Grey Zabel at the No. 23 spot. During his time at Borth Dakota State, Zabel played in numerous positions on the offensive line. He spent most of his time in the interior of the line but also logged double-digit starts on the outside. On Green Bay, he would likely shift to the right side of the line at right guard or tackle.

No. 24: Minnesota Vikings
Original Pick: Donovan Jackson, OT
New Pick: Walter Nolen, DT
The Vikings select one of the top interior defensive linemen, Walter Nolen, at the No. 24 slot. Nolen played the first two seasons of his college career at Texas A&M before moving to Ole Miss for his final campaign. At Ole Miss, Nolen was named a consensus All-American and tallied a career-best 6.5 sacks with 48 combined tackles. He will add even more depth to a stellar rushing defense in Minnesota that allowed the second-fewest yards per game on the ground in 2024.

No. 25: Houston Texans
Original Pick: Jaxson Dart, QB (selected by New York Giants)
New Pick: Matthew Golden, WR
With Tank Dell expected to miss the entire 2025 season and Stefon Diggs leaving for New England in free agency, the Texans add another top pass-catcher to pair with Nico Collins. Golden enjoyed a third-year breakout with Texas during the 2024 season. With the Longhorns, Golden caught nine touchdown passes (led the SEC) and tallied 987 passing yards.

No. 26: Los Angeles Rams
Original Pick: James Pearce Jr. (selected by Atlanta)
New Pick: Donovan Jackson, OT
The Los Angeles Rams select former four-year Ohio State starter Donovan Jackson. During his time as a Buckeye, Jackson was quite valuable on the offensive line, seeing time at both tackle and guard. During their playoff loss to the Eagles, the Rams struggled to protect Matthew Stafford, allowing five sacks. Jackson will provide solid depth to a team that is eyeing a competitive NFC.

No. 27: Baltimore Ravens
Original Pick: Malaki Starks, S
New Pick: Kenneth Grant, DT
While the Ravens excelled at defending the run during the regular season, in their playoff loss, they struggled to contain the Buffalo Bills. In this contest, the Bills ran for 147 yards, with James Cook leading the way with 67. As a result, they opt to take the top defensive lineman on the board, Kenneth Grant. During his three seasons in Michigan, Grant tallied 68 combined tackles and added 12 tackles for loss.

No. 28: Detroit Lions
Original Pick: Tyleik Williams, DT
New Pick: Maxwell Hairston, DB
The Lions boasted one of the league’s top offensive units but often struggled to defend the pass. This was evident in their playoff loss to the Washington Commanders. With the 28th pick in the “re-do” draft, the Lions take the top defensive back on the board, Maxwell Hairston. Hairston flashed elite speed at Kentucky, tallying six interceptions with three IntTDs over his final 20 games. In 2024, the Lions allowed the third-most passing yards per game.

No. 29: Washington Commanders
Original Pick: Josh Conerly Jr. OT
New Pick: TreVeyon Henderson, RB
The Washington Commanders enjoyed an incredible 2024 campaign as they reached the NFC Championship Game with a rookie QB under center. However, while Jayden Daniels carried the offense, he did not have a reliable rushing attack behind him. Brian Robinson Jr. has missed time throughout his career and has lacked efficiency. Austin Ekeler showed flashes during his debut season in D.C., but also missed time with injuries. As a result, selecting TreVeyon Henderson would provide a much-needed spark to the backfield. At Ohio State, Henderson ran for 3,761 yards and scored 48 TDs across four seasons.

No. 30: Buffalo Bills
Original Pick: Maxwell Hairston DB
New Pick: Josh Simmons, OT
The Bills selected offensive tackle Josh Simmons at the No. 30 spot in the “re-do” draft. While Simmons will likely miss time during his rookie campaign after suffering a torn patellar tendon during the 2024 campaign, he is an elite long-term option at left tackle. He was a full-time starter on the Ohio State line before the injury and would have likely been taken much higher if he had not been injured.

No. 31: Kansas City Chiefs
Original Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB (selected by Philadelphia)
New Pick: Quinshon Judkins, RB
Isiah Pacheco was on pace to enjoy a breakout campaign in 2024 but suffered a fractured fibula in Week 2, which derailed his season. He returned to action in Week 13 but posted a modest 3.4 YPC through his final eight games of the season. While veteran Kareem Hunt took over the top role, the Chiefs would instead find their lead option in the draft by selecting Quinshon Judkins of Ohio State. Judkins ran for over 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons and led the SEC in rushing scores during his first two seasons (with Ole Miss).

No. 32: Philadelphia Eagles
Original Pick: Josh Simmons OT (selected by Kansas City)
New Pick: James Pearce Jr., LB
The Philadelphia Eagles conclude the draft by adding James Pearce Jr. to their stacked defense. Last season, tallied a career-high 38 combined tackles for Tennessee. For the second-straight season, he logged double-digit tackles for loss and added at least 7.5 sacks. He will join a defense that allowed the second-fewest PPG and fewest yards per game.
