ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle did the thing again. He's leading fantasy managers to believe he could take over the Cowboys backfield. Don't be deceived. He had a few more catches than usual but failed to crack 15 touches even in a blowout loss to the Saints.

Many have blamed the Cowboys' offensive line for the running game woes, but the advanced stats tell a different story. The Cowboys' offensive line has been fantastic at run blocking this season, yet Dowdle and Elliott have consistently failed to create extra yardage on runs by forcing missed tackles.
Dowdle has had plenty of opportunities to show he's a clear lead RB in the NFL and hasn't seized any of them. Expecting him to break out after he's put up such a poor showing despite having a good supporting cast up front. Dowdle has precious few highlight-reel-worthy plays to show for his time in Dallas.
Neither RB in Dallas' dreaded committee is an exciting fantasy football start. Both are better left on the bench.
