The Cleveland Browns selected top running back prospect Quinshon Judkins in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. After letting Nick Chubb walk in free agency, Judkins appeared primed to lead the backfield as a rookie.
However, in the offseason, Judkins was arrested for domestic assault and was away from the team throughout the entire preseason.

Quinshon Judkins Week 2 Waiver Wire Outlook
Shortly before their season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, Judkins signed his rookie contract with the Browns. Judkins was the final rookie to sign his contract with the team that selected him.
However, given that he only officially joined the Browns on Saturday, he was unable to play on Sunday. This paved the way for Jerome Ford and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson to lead the backfield.
In this contest, Sampson showed high promise as a pass catcher as he brought in all eight of his targets for 64 yards. He lost 12 carries on the ground while Ford ran the ball just six times.
Judkins was expected to join the team this week, but was unable to participate on Wednesday as he was meeting with the NFL regarding a potential suspension. While he still could debut in Week 2, given that he is meeting the league, a suspension could be in the works.

Should I Pickup Quinshon Judkins in Week 2?
Even if Judkins were to be suspended, he is a top player to target on the waiver wire. During his college career, he flashed immense upside and should be in a position to carve out a substantial role in the Cleveland backfield when he returns.
During his final college season in 2024, Judkins punched in 16 total touchdowns for the National Champions. In 2022 and 2023, Judkins scored 17 total touchdowns in each season for Ole Miss.
Given that Ford struggled as a runner in Week 1, Judkins should take on the majority of the short-yardage and goal-line work while Sampson remains the primary pass-catching option. As a result, Judkins could carry a solid RB2 value/high-end flex potential once he takes the field.
