Quentin Johnston fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Quentin Johnston for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston had one of the most forgettable rookie seasons in recent memory, but he's seemingly put those days behind him with back-to-back startable performances in the first two weeks of 2024. Johnston put up 22.1 PPR fantasy points last game.
Biggest Risers in First-Read Target Share
2023 vs. 2024
Quentin Johnston: 12% vs. 39%
Cooper Kupp: 29% vs. 52%
Jameson Williams: 12% vs. 35%
Isaiah Likely: 8% vs. 24%
Rashee Rice: 20% vs. 35%
Rashid Shaheed: 16% vs. 27%— Fantasy Points Data (@FantasyPtsData) September 19, 2024
Johnston has certainly put in work in the offseason, quietly improving his game, and it's showing up in the stat sheet, not only through his production but through QB Justin Herbert's tendencies.
Johnston has more than tripled his First-Read Target Share, meaning he's often the first player the QB looks at and he's converting a high percentage of those routes to targets, which implies he's running good routes and winning consistently.
Though the Chargers are a low-volume passing offense, Johnston is taking such a lion's share of the targets on first reads that he's startable anyway. He's a solid WR3/FLEX play for Week 3.
