56 mins agoESPN's Field Yates thinks the Atlanta Falcons will re-sign impending free-agent offensive tackle Kaleb McGary this offseason. McGary's breakout season in 2022 in his fourth NFL campaign should net him a big payday. Atlanta's quarterback situation is a big question mark, but they'll also need to ensure that whoever is under center has a dependable line in front of him. McGary could command a contract of $12-plus million per year on the open market. The 27-year-old had his fifth-year option declined last offseason, but he really stepped up his game at the right time as the Falcons' starting right tackle.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

1 hour agoFootball Outsiders' Aaron Schatz predicts that the Arizona Cardinals will cut wide receiver Robbie Anderson this offseason after he had only seven catches in 10 games for the team in 2022 after they acquired him from the Carolina Panthers. Cutting Anderson would trim $12 million from the team's salary cap in 2023 with no dead money. The 29-year-old was pretty much buried on the Cardinals receiver depth chart behind DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch, giving him little chance to make much of an impact in the middle of the season. His current contract calls for a non-guaranteed $8.8 million base salary and $3 million roster bonus in 2023. It's pretty much a no-brainer that Anderson will be released at some point this offseason.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Football Outsiders - Aaron Schatz

1 hour agoESPN's Field Yates is expecting the Arizona Cardinals to re-sign impending free-agent cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. this offseason. Murphy is a homegrown talent getting set to enter the prime of his career at a premium position. He won't come cheap due to his ability, but the Cardinals have little reason to move on from him, regardless of the direction of the team in 2023. The 25-year-old finished the year on Injured Reserve due to a back injury and played in only nine games in 2022, but he put up four interceptions and 12 pass breakups the year prior. In his four seasons with the Cardinals, Murphy has recorded 184 solo tackles, five interceptions (one for a touchdown), 34 passes defensed and five fumble recoveries (one for a TD).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

1 hour agoESPN's Josh Weinfuss thinks re-signing defensive end Zach Allen this offseason needs to be a big priority for the Arizona Cardinals. Allen isn't a big-name defender, but he had a big impact in 2022 with 5.5 sacks, 47 tackles and 16 pass breakups. J.J. Watt is now retired, so the Cardinals can ill-afford to lose Allen, who is built in the same model of Watt's frame. The 25-year-old missed the last four games of the season due to a hand injury, but he could be a big part of the team's future on defense. The 25-year-old just wrapped up his fourth NFL campaign and has recorded 9.5 sacks and 53 solo tackles in the last two years in 27 games started.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss

3 hours agoESPN's Field Yates believes the Miami Dolphins will re-sign impending free-agent linebacker Elandon Roberts this offseason. The Dolphins have a lot of work to do to improve their defense, and Roberts should be a priority to retain. The 28-year-old was a team captain and is a physical enforcer and smart blitzer. He's certainly due a raise on his current deal of $2.75 million after totaling 104 total tackles and a career-high 4.5 sacks in 2022. In his three years with the Dolphins, Roberts has 143 solo tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, seven sacks, an interception, four passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 47 regular season games. With better injury luck in 2023, Miami's defense should recover, especially if they re-sign Roberts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

3 hours agoESPN's Field Yates isn't expecting the Minnesota Vikings to re-sign impending free-agent defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson this offseason. Tomlinson has been solid for Minnesota and should command a nice salary on the open market as a gifted pass-rusher and big-bodied run-stopper. But the Vikings will be more motivated to pay wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a deal that will potentially be the richest ever for a wideout. The 28-year-old Tomlinson had 42 tackles (20 solo), 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in 13 regular season games for the Vikings in 2022 while being limited to a career-low in defensive snaps due to a calf injury that caused him to miss four games. Minnesota is also $24.5 million over the salary cap as things currently stand.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

3 hours agoESPN's Field Yates doesn't expect the Baltimore Ravens to re-sign veteran cornerback Marcus Peters this offseason. The presumed franchise tag for quarterback Lamar Jackson will take up a huge chunk of the team's salary cap space in 2023, and Peters could be looking for one final big contract at age 30. Peters remained productive in 2022, but injuries have limited him to 13 regular season games over the last two years. When healthy, he's been one of the team's top cornerbacks, but the Ravens will probably be looking to move on given their salary cap restrictions this year. Peters is a four-time All-Pro and finished with 47 tackles (35 solo), one interception, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a sack last season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

3 hours agoESPN's Field Yates expects the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to re-sign impending free-agent linebacker Lavonte David this offseason. If the Buccaneers commit to a youth movement and a rebuild, perhaps David isn't retained. However, Yates firmly believes that he carries immense value for the franchise, regardless of where they are in their trajectory. The 33-year-old veteran brings plenty of leadership qualities and had 124 tackles, three sacks and five pass breakups in 2022. He has spent all 11 of his NFL seasons with Tampa and has gone over 100 combined tackles in all but two of those seasons. David should continue to be attractive in IDP fantasy leagues in 2023, regardless of where he's playing.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

4 hours agoESPN's Field Yates expects the Jacksonville Jaguars to re-sign impending free-agent offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor this offseason. Taylor won't be cheap after peaking in 2022. He's been a staple on Jacksonville's offensive line since being drafted in 2019, playing every offensive snap. A deal with a per-year average of $15 million-plus could be on tap for the 25-year-old. The Jaguars' decision to go all-in on quarterback Trevor Lawrence's supporting cast on the offensive line paid major dividends in his second NFL season under head coach Doug Pederson.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

4 hours agoDraft expert Matt Miller thinks that wide receiver needs to be a first-round focus for the New York Giants and general manager Joe Schoen in this year's draft. Ohio State's Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a dream target if he's available. The Giants have nine projected draft picks in 2023, so Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll can find receivers while also making additions to the cornerback and linebacker groups early in the draft. New York's offense leaned heavily on the legs of both running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones, who are both free agents next month. Darius Slayton led the Giants in receiving in 2022 with 46 catches for 724 yards and two touchdowns. There's a lot to like about Wan'Dale Robinson's future, but the G-Men need a bona fide No. 1 wideout moving forward.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Matt Miller

4 hours agoESPN's Alaina Getzenberg writes that the Buffalo Bills should be looking for help along the interior of their offensive line this offseason. Rodger Saffold III, David Quessenberry, Greg Van Roten and Ike Boettger are set to hit free agency next month, so adding young talent up front to help protect quarterback Josh Allen should be a priority. It will also give the Bills a better opportunity in the running game earlier in the season. Buffalo's pass-block win rate for both the guard and center positions ranked in the bottom half of the league in 2022. Draft expert Jordan Reid thinks Florida guard O'Cyrus Torrence could be a first-round target, and Alabama's Emil Ekiyor Jr. and USC's Andrew Vorhees could also help in the middle rounds.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Alaina Getzenberg

5 hours agoESPN's Field Yates expects the Buffalo Bills to re-sign impending free-agent Pro Bowl safety Jordan Poyer this offseason. He continues to play at a high level, and both sides have been interested in a contract extension for some time. Poyer will be entering his age-32 season in 2023, so this will be his best shot at one more big contract. He had four interceptions and eight pass breakups in 12 games this year and has played a significant role in Buffalo's defensive rise recently. If Buffalo chooses to go in another direction, the first-time Pro Bowler should have plenty of interest on the open market. In addition to Poyer, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is another impending free agent on the defensive side of the ball for Buffalo that they will probably want back.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Field Yates

5 hours agoOne of the Dallas Cowboys' biggest offseason priorities should be to sign wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and/or cornerback Trevon Diggs to long-term extensions, writes ESPN's Todd Archer. Lamb and Diggs will be eligible for extensions this offseason, and both will be expensive. But if Dallas fails to sign either player, they will be treading water on the salary cap for years to come. If one or both of them are signed long term, the Cowboys can then work on deals to keep players like Tony Pollard and Leighton Vander Esch or add free agents on the open market. Lamb had career-highs in catches (107), receiving yards (1,359) and touchdowns (nine) in 17 regular season games and has become one of the safer fantasy receivers at just 23 years old.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN Dallas - Todd Archer

5 hours agoFootball Outsiders' Aaron Schatz predicts that the San Francisco 49ers will sign All-Pro pass-rusher Nick Bosa to a new long-term deal this offseason. Bosa is due almost $18 million in 2023 in the final year of his rookie deal, so an extension would serve to lower his salary cap hit next season while also guaranteeing him more total money and securing him for the long term. Bosa led the NFL with 18.5 sacks in 2022 and is still only 25 years old. The three-time Pro Bowler also added 51 tackles (41 solo), 19 tackles for loss, 48 QB hits and two forced fumbles in 16 regular season games in his fourth NFL season. Bosa will absolutely be one of the first defensive lineman off the board in IDP fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Football Outsiders - Aaron Schatz

6 hours agoESPN's Nick Wagoner writes that the San Francisco 49ers will likely focus on re-signing cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (knee) this offseason. He was playing like a No. 1 cornerback before he tore his left ACL in October. It won't be easy to bring him back, though, after he had five pass breakups and an interception in the first five games in 2022. If the 49ers can't re-sign him, cornerback will suddenly become a pressing need for them ahead of the 2023 season. The 26-year-old could be out until training camp this summer, which could lower his cost on the open market. The Niners defense was one of the best in the NFL yet again last year, but defending the pass was one of their weaknesses.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner
