1 hour agoGreen Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks caught four passes on a career-high six targets for 45 yards in the team's 18-17 comeback win on Sunday over the New Orleans Saints in their home opener in Week 3. Wicks didn't find the end zone like he did in Week 2, but he had career-highs in targets, catches and receiving yards with Christian Watson (hamstring) missing his third straight game to begin the 2023 regular season. The 22-year-old has showed well in the beginning of his career after being a fifth-round selection and warrant stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues, but his role in Green Bay's offense will most likely take a step back whenever Watson makes his season debut.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
1 hour agoKansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle), who was limping at one point in the Week 3 blowout win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday after getting his ankle rolled up, is "all good," according to a source. He's not dealing with a serious injury and should be fine for the Sunday night game in Week 4 against the New York Jets. The 28-year-old went 24-for-33 for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the 41-10 thumping of the Bears, adding three carries for 28 yards with his legs. The Chiefs and fantasy managers dodged a bullet here, but his ankle will be something to watch heading into a tough Week 4 matchup on the road against once of the better defenses in the NFL. Despite the tough matchup, Mahomes is a must-start, high-end QB1 week in and week out.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
1 hour agoGreen Bay Packers running back Patrick Taylor saw an expanded role for the second straight week with Aaron Jones (hamstring) inactive in the 18-17 comeback win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Taylor, working as the backup to AJ Dillon, had three carries for six yards and caught three of his four targets for an additional 23 yards. The 25-year-old's line didn't open any eyes, but he was the clear backup over rookie Emanuel Wilson, who had two carries for six yards and caught his only target for a six-yard gain. It remains to be seen if Jones will be able to return on a short week this Thursday night against the division-rival Detroit Lions, but if he can't, Taylor could become a permanent fixture on the 53-man active roster the rest of the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
2 hours agoBaltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton produced monster output in the Ravens' 19-22 Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Hamilton made seven solo tackles, two assists, two TFL, 3.0 sacks, and a forced fumble while playing all 84 snaps. Hamilton, the No. 14 pick in the 2022 Draft, was a utility man in his rookie season who played 53% of the Ravens' defensive snaps, primarily as a slot corner. He started out the 2023 season slowly, only making seven combined tackles in the first two weeks, but he finished Week 3 as the No. 1 IDP scorer, racking up 47 points in RotoBaller IDP Standard scoring.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
2 hours agoBuffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard had two sacks and an interception in the Bills' 37-3 win over the Washington Commanders. He also recovered a fumble and made seven combined tackles. Bernard is off to a hot start to his second year. He has 24 tackles and two interceptions. He ranks as the LB4 through three weeks. This is his first season as a starter, as Bernard won the job of replacing Tremaine Edmunds. Bernard should be considered a top waiver-wire addition in IDP leagues.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
2 hours agoCleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett went off in the Browns' 27-3 romping of the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Garrett was a constant presence in the Titans' backfield, registering five hits on Ryan Tannehill and 3.5 sacks. Of his five combined tackles, four were solo. He also forced a fumble. The Browns' defense was completely dominant, limiting the Titans to just 94 total yards and stopping them all but 2-of-12 third down conversion attempts. Alex Wright and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo also joined Garrett on sacks.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
2 hours agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow continued his trend of barely being involved in the offense in the 23-18 loss to the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Renfrow was targeted just two times in the contest, catching them both for 17 total yards. The 27-year-old managed to play a season-high 37 offensive snaps, even with Jakobi Meyers returning from a concussion, but it didn't amount to anything at all. It was a bad sign for Renfrow when he didn't do anything in last week's blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills when Meyers was out with his head injury. Through the first three weeks, Renfrow has just three receptions on three targets for 40 yards. He belongs on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues until further notice.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
2 hours agoGreen Bay Packers defensive end Rashan Gary had three sacks in the Packers' 18-17 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Gary is beginning to emerge as his workload is slowly being ramped up following an ACL tear that ended his 2022 season halfway through. He only played 12 snaps (38%) in Week 1, but he played 23 snaps in Week 3. In that limited time, he made four QB hits. In his past two seasons, he played 70% of the team's defensive snaps, so he still has room to expand his role.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
2 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris continued to underwhelm in the Sunday night win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Harris was once again the clear backfield leader with a team-high 19 carries, but he gained only 65 yards (3.4 yards per tote) and failed to haul in his only target in the passing game. Pittsburgh's offense looked the best it has all year, which allowed them to get the 25-year-old a season-high in carries, but he didn't really do much at all with it. Jaylen Warren also touched the ball 11 times and isn't going away, so Harris is going to need to be much more efficient to reward his fantasy managers. Harris will be hoping to get into the end zone for the first time in a favorable Week 4 matchup against the Houston Texans.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
2 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens led the team in receiving in their 23-18 Sunday night victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3, catching four of his six targets for a team-high 75 yards. Pickens' four catches and six targets also tied for the team lead on the night. It would have obviously been a much nicer line if he had managed to find the end zone for the second straight week, but it was still a solid showing nonetheless as Pittsburgh's top wideout with Diontae Johnson (hamstring) on Injured Reserve. The 22-year-old should continue to be a high-target, high-floor fantasy option as long as Johnson is sidelined. Keep him in your starting lineups for a Week 4 matchup against the Houston Texans on Sunday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
2 hours agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. had another solid outing in the team's 22-19 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens, hauling in nine catches for 77 yards. Pittman Jr. continues to be a favored target of both quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Anthony Richardson, receiving double-digit targets for the third week in a row with 11. The 25-year-old receiver provides an incredibly safe floor weekly in PPR formats with his target share and has WR1 upside if he can find the end zone in upcoming matchups. He'll face a Los Angeles Rams defense in Week 4 that has been surprisingly stingy to opposing wideouts, but he can confidently be included in lineups for that contest.--Mo Aneizi - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
2 hours agoIf Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams' knee injury causes him to miss significant time (potentially the rest of the season), first-round rookie receiver Quentin Johnston could be called upon much earlier than expected moving forward. Johnston played 27 percent of the offensive snaps in his NFL debut in Week 1 and just 15 percent of the snaps in the Week 2 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. In his first three games, he has just five receptions on eight targets for 26 yards, but his role will be increasing in three-wide sets if Williams misses extended time. Joshua Palmer should still be the priority waiver-wire addition in standard-sized fantasy leagues this week, but Johnston deserves some consideration as well in deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
2 hours agoDetroit Lions' safety Brian Branch shined in his first start, as the Lions beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-6. Branch made 11 solo tackles, including three tackles for loss, and he broke up two passes. The second-round rookie has flashed in a limited role in his first two games before starting in Week 3. He returned his first career interception for a touchdown in Week 1. He started against the Falcons following an injury to C.J. Gardner-Johnson (pectoral). Gardner-Johnson will miss multiple weeks, so Branch will remain the starter for a while and could earn the starting job going forward.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
2 hours agoIndianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin continued his productive season with 15 combined tackles and his first sack in a Week 3 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He has made over ten tackles in three straight games, and he leads the NFL in solo tackles and assists. With his massive tackle production, Franklin ranks as the No. 1 inside linebacker and the No. 2 overall IDP scorer in RotoBaller Standard IDP scoring. Next week he will continue to be a must-start against the Los Angeles Rams.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
3 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren carried the ball eight times for 29 yards and caught three passes for 23 yards in the team's 23-18 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The 11 touches were the most that Warren's had in a game this year but starter Najee Harris received 19 carries himself. There were reports that Warren was expecting a "bigger role" in Week 3 but he did not capitalize on the opportunities. Still, the undrafted second-year back has looked noticeably better than Harris so far this season. The Steelers will travel to Houston for their Week 4 matchup.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
