Mike Evans Has WR2 Value For Week 3
3 mins agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has put together back-to-back strong performances to open the season. The veteran wideout has hauled in 12 receptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns during the first two games of the season. The Bucs have targeted Evans heavy in the passing game and that is likely to continue going forward. Evans will now head into a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. A defensive unit that is normally solid, but has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts this season. That being said, Evans should remain in the WR2 conversation for the upcoming Monday night matchup.Source: Pro Football Reference
Rachaad White Could Struggle Against Eagles
17 mins agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White struggled during the season opener, but looked much better in Week 2. Last week, White topped over 100 total yards and scored a touchdown in the victory over the Chicago Bears. The Bucs have made it known they want to pound the ball with White. He has 17 rushing attempts in both games to start the season. The expectation is that the Bucs are going to continue giving him the ball. However, White is likely to struggle versus the Philadelphia Eagles defense in Week 3. A defensive unit that has allowed the fifth fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. That being said, fantasy managers should consider White a possible flex option for this upcoming matchup.Source: Pro Football Reference
Baker Mayfield Remains A QB2 For Week 3
25 mins agoTampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is coming off his first 300-yard passing game in nearly two years. So far, the Mayfield experiment has worked out for the Bucs through the first two games of the season. Heading into Week 3, Mayfield has thrown for nearly 500 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Now, he'll head into a Week 3 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. A defensive unit that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Despite that, the Eagles still have a dangerous defense, so Mayfield should be considered a QB2 for this game.Source: Pro Football Reference
Chargers Defense Not A Good Week 3 Option
2 hours agoThe Los Angeles Chargers defense is not a good fantasy option in a Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Outside of some pass rush highlights, the Chargers defense has struggled through the first two weeks of the season. They started the season with a DST30 week against the Dolphins then improved to a DST16 game against the offensively-limited Titans. Week 3 features a Chargers vs. Vikings matchup that projects to be quite the offensive shootout, meaning the Bolts defense is best left on the waiver wire for another week.Source: RotoBaller
Cameron Dicker Should Be Solid Again In Week 3
2 hours agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker should have another solid game in a Week 3 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Dicker has been perfect so far this season, nailing all five field goal attempts and all five extra point tries. In a game likely to be a high scoring shootout, Dicker is a good bet to put up his third straight top-10 fantasy finish at his position.Source: RotoBaller
Brandin Cooks Practices Again Thursday
2 hours agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) is good to go for his second straight day of practice on Thursday after missing the Week 2 win over the New York Jets with an MCL injury. Cooks was officially listed as limited on Wednesday and will likely be given the same designation on Thursday. In the 40-0 blowout win over the New York Giants in Week 1, Cooks wasn't really needed and finished with just two catches on four targets for 22 yards. With him absence in Week 2, Michael Gallup played the same number of offensive snaps as CeeDee Lamb but caught just one pass for three yards. For what it's worth, Cooks expects to return this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals in another game that probably won't require the Cowboys to air it out much.Source: ESPN Dallas - Todd Archer
Riley Patterson A Low-End Streaming Candidate For Week 3
2 hours agoDetroit Lions kicker Riley Patterson has connected on all eight of his placekicking opportunities (seven extra points, one field goal) through the first two weeks of the regular season. Head coach Dan Campbell likes to roll the dice on fourth down rather than kicking a field goal, so Patterson will likely have a low floor all season. That said, he's nothing more than a low-end streaming option in the Week 3 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.Source: ESPN
Isiah Pacheco Back At Practice
2 hours agoAfter being held out of practice on Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) was on the field on Thursday. Pacheco will likely be listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, but the return to action gives him a chance to suit up in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old second-year back dominated the team's backfield touches in the Week 2 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, taking 12 carries for 70 yards. Through two games this year, he's had 20 rushing attempts for 93 yards (4.7 yards per tote), adding five catches for 31 yards, but he's yet to find the end zone. As long as he's active this Sunday in Kansas City, he should once again serve as the Chiefs' lead back.Source: Chiefs Digest - Matt Derrick
Miles Sanders Practicing Again Thursday
2 hours agoCarolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders (pectoral) was on the practice field again on Thursday after he was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday. Barring a setback, Sanders should be good to go for a Week 3 meeting with the Seattle Seahawks on the road. The Panthers may now be without rookie quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) in that game, which means veteran Andy Dalton would make the start under center. It could cause the Panthers to lean even more on their ground game, which would be good news for Sanders. Through his first two games with Carolina, the 26-year-old has underwhelmed with 32 carries for 115 yards (3.6 yards per carry) and no touchdowns. He's added seven receptions for 30 scoreless yards.Source: The Athletic - Joe Person
Christian Watson Downgraded On Thursday
3 hours agoAfter returning to a limited practice on Wednesday, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) was unable to practice with the team on Thursday. Watson has missed the first two games of the season and might have tried to do too much at practice on Wednesday before he was ready, so now he's in danger of missing his third straight game to open the 2023 campaign. There's a good chance he'll be listed as questionable yet again on the final Week 3 injury report. The 24-year-old is expected to be quarterback Jordan Love's top target when healthy, but he's had trouble recovering from a lingering hamstring injury he suffered late in training camp. If he misses another game, Romeo Doubs and rookie Jayden Reed will have higher fantasy ceilings again against the New Orleans Saints.Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein
Anthony Richardson Misses Another Practice
3 hours agoIndianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson (concussion) will miss his second straight day of practice on Thursday as he remains in the league's concussion protocol. Richardson was on his way to a big day in his second career NFL game in the Week 2 win over the Houston Texans -- he had two rushing touchdowns -- but a concussion ended his day early and now he's in danger of missing a Week 3 tilt against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Fantasy managers that have been rolling with the talented 21-year-old signal-caller as a QB2 with upside through the first two weeks of 2023 need to have a backup plan in place. If Richardson can't gain clearance by Sunday, veteran backup Gardner Minshew will make his first start for the Colts.Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe
Evan Hull Will Miss Rest Of The Season
3 hours agoIndianapolis Colts rookie running back Evan Hull (knee), who was already placed on Injured Reserve, will now miss the rest of his first NFL season with a torn meniscus. The Colts were impressed with Hull when he was on the field and they still have high hopes for him in the future. The fifth-round selection had just one carry for one yard and caught one pass for a six-yard gain in the season opener over eight offensive snaps. The Colts still have Jonathan Taylor (ankle) on the Physically Unable to Perform list for at least two more games, but they added Trey Sermon to their practice squad earlier this week to give them more RB depth behind Zack Moss, Deon Jackson and Jake Funk. Hull is only worth stashing in deep dynasty/keeper leagues.Source: Jordan Schultz
Gerald Everett Not A Good Choice In Week 3
3 hours agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett isn't much of a fantasy option in a Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Everett has only put up nine fantasy points total through two games, and now he faces a Vikings defense that is fourth against opposing tight ends. Meanwhile, they struggle against wide receivers, so it's a safe bet that the Chargers will run the passing game through Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Everett has some season-long upside as the team adjusts into Kellen Moore's offensive scheme that has always featured strong tight end play, but Week 3 is unlikely to be Everett's first big game of the year. He's a middling TE2 option without much upside.Source: RotoBaller
Mike Williams Could Be Solid In Week 3
3 hours agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (ankle) could have a solid Week 3 performance against the Minnesota Vikings. Williams missed some time in Week 1 with an injury, but he's still put up 20 fantasy points through the first two weeks. This week, he showed up on the injury report with an ankle issue, but he got in a full practice so it's likely nothing major. Week 3 could be the biggest week yet for Williams as Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense take on the Vikings zone defense. Keenan Allen is the clear number one in this passing game, but Williams is right behind him and should be the target of more of Herbert's deep balls going forward. Williams is a solid WR2 for this matchup, with some upside.Source: RotoBaller
Jahmyr Gibbs Could Be In For Big Game Against Falcons
3 hours agoDetroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has rushed 14 times for 59 yards and caught nine passes on 11 targets for 57 yards in his first two NFL games. His usage is expected to see an uptick as the season progresses, and with David Montgomery (thigh) looking doubtful to play against the Atlanta Falcons, this could be the spot for him to produce a boom performance. The rookie should see the majority of touches if Montgomery is on the shelf, so he would become a virtual must-start option. Craig Reynolds would likely mix in on early downs, though. If Montgomery surprisingly plays, Gibbs will continue to have low-end PPR league flex value.Source: ESPN
