Zack Wheeler Still On Track To Start Game 6
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that right-hander Zack Wheeler remains the Game 6 starter for the World Series against the Houston Astros when the series shifts back to Houston on Saturday. Left-hander Ranger Suarez, who started Game 3 on Tuesday, could be the Game 7 starter, if necessary. With the series tied at two games apiece, there's a chance that Wheeler could be trying to keep the Phillies alive for a winner-take-all Game 7. The 32-year-old has his worst outing of his first postseason in Game 2 of the World Series against the Astros on Saturday, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out three in five innings. He'll be hoping to turn things around after allowing six earned runs in his last two playoff starts combined.
