Yu Darvish's Fingernail Issue Not A Concern
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish (finger) had a brief mound visit during his intrasquad outing on Thursday due to a minor fingernail issue on his right index finger. It's not a concern, though, as the right-hander stayed in the contest and faced six more batters after the mound visit. There's nothing to worry about here if you already own the Japanese pitcher. The 33-year-old was pretty dominant to close out his first full season with the Cubbies, and he finished with a 3.98 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 229 K's and 56 walks in 31 starts, although he did allow 33 home runs. The four-time All-Star had an electric 11.5 strikeouts per nine innings and can be a fantasy ace if he can stay healthy for the entire season, which should be easier in a 60-game schedule.
