Yankees Expected To Pick Up Luis Severino's Option
2 years agoNew York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he expects to pick up starting pitcher Luis Severino's $15 million option for the 2023 season. Severino only made three starts from 2019 to 2021 due to injuries, but he got back on track in 2022 and went 7-3 with a 3.18 ERA (3.70 FIP), a 1.00 WHIP, 112 strikeouts and 30 walks in 102 innings over his 19 starts for the Yankees. However, he still missed around two months due to a lat injury, but he should be fully healthy for spring training next year. The 28-year-old right-hander will surely be an injury risk for fantasy managers, but the upside is still there if he can just stay on the field.
