Xander Bogaerts To Miss Second Straight Contest Monday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts (wrist) is once again out of the starting lineup for Monday's contest with Kyle Hendricks and the visiting Chicago Cubs. Bogaerts also sat out Sunday's contest due to the wrist ailment, and he'll get another day of rest to heal on Monday. It's been a solid, yet unspectacular season for the 30-year-old given his lofty standards. The former Red Sox star is hitting .252 with seven homers, six stolen bases, and a .725 OPS in 57 appearances, all of which fall well below his career norms. Additionally, his .314 xwOBA is actually inferior to his .323 wOBA so far, meaning positive regression may not be on the horizon. Ha-Seong Kim will move over to shortstop and hit eighth Monday night.
