Willie Calhoun Likely To Miss Opening Day
4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (hip) has a Grade 1 strain of his right hip and is likely to miss Opening Day, according to general manager Jon Daniels. The Rangers don't expect him to be out long, but he will miss the start of the regular season next Friday. Calhoun has plenty of fantasy and real-life potential for the Rangers, but health has been a problem. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter suffered a fractured jaw on March 8 and wasn't going to be ready for the season before it was delayed due to the coronavirus. His ADP will surely drop with this latest injury, potentially giving savvy fantasy owners even more value to a player that managed 21 home runs and 48 RBI in just 83 games in 2019. Nick Solak could be the biggest beneficiary to open the season with Calhoun sidelined.
