Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Feels Quicker After Losing 42 Pounds
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman/third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. says he feels quicker this spring after losing 42 pounds in the offseason while transforming his body after arriving to camp last year out of shape. The 22-year-old says the changes have mostly improved his fielding. While he's expected to spend most of his time at first base in 2021, Toronto could give himself a chance to prove himself at third base as well. But fantasy managers are more concerned with Vlad's bat and the fact that he hit way too many ground balls (54.6 percent ground-ball rate) in 2020. Guerrero has the potential to be a top-five fantasy first baseman, as he already has top-tier exit velocities and hard-hit rates. And because he's now in better shape heading into 2021, you'll have to pay a pretty penny (55 ADP) to bet on his upside.
