3 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez allowed three runs in five innings Saturday in San Francisco. Velasquez allowed three hits and a walk against three strikeouts while taking his seventh loss of the season. Given the matchup, it's a disappointing result for Velasquez who now has failed to complete six innings in seven of his past eight starts. The lack of innings alone limits his fantasy upside but he as also overachieved so far this season with an ERA of 4.30 compared to a FIP of 5.25. His 26.2 strikeout rate gives him streamer appeal in deeper leagues, but he's best left on waivers in standard mixed leagues.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
