Tyler O'Neill Getting Close to Rehab Assignment
Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) is doing baseball activities and is close to going on a minor-league rehab assignment, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. Barring a setback once O'Neill starts his rehab assignment, he should be an option to come off the 10-day injured list and rejoin Baltimore's big-league outfield in early June. The 29-year-old went on the IL on May 16 due to a left-shoulder impingement. O'Neill has also missed time this year with a neck injury and has gone just 15-for-80 (.188) with two home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases in his first 24 games with the Orioles. Despite his rough start and injuries, O'Neill should play regularly for Baltimore when he returns to the IL. With O'Neill, Colton Cowser (thumb) and Ramon Laureano (ankle) all on the shelf, Dylan Carlson has seen more run of late.
