Tyler O'Neill Back In Action Against Padres
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (knee) is back in left field and will hit second for the Red Birds on Monday against the visiting San Diego Padres and left-hander Blake Snell. The oft-injured O'Neill was scratched from the lineup for the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday with left-knee discomfort, but he's back in there a day later. The power/speed threat continues to disappoint fantasy managers that invested in him before the season, as he's hitting .240/.324/.411 with seven home runs, 12 doubles, 16 RBI, three stolen bases and 23 runs in only 59 games played in 2023. Although he does have five home runs in 20 games (17 starts) in August, he's gone just 14-for-66 (.212) at the plate with 16 strikeouts in 76 plate appearances.
