Tyler Boyd 2024 Outlook: Limited Upside In New-Look Tennessee Offense
7 months agoTennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd signed a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million to join his former offensive coordinator and new Titans head coach Brian Callahan in 2024. He's primed to start in three-wide sets alongside Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins and will likely be a solid contributor to the offense, but his upside is capped as long as Hopkins and Ridley stay healthy. Although quarterback Will Levis flashed upside in his 2023 rookie campaign, it's too early to project Tennessee to be one of the better passing offenses in the league. While in Cincinnati, Boyd played in an elite passing offense, yet he was nowhere close to an every-week starter in fantasy football over the last few seasons. The 29-year-old is likely capped as the No. 3 option during his first season with the Titans, making him a decent bench stash and late-round flyer -- at best. If Hopkins or Ridley miss any time in 2024, he could be a top waiver wire option in shallower leagues depending on how Levis looks early in his sophomore campaign. All that said, it's worth noting Tennessee looks to be transitioning to a pass-first offense after letting Derrick Henry walk in free agency.
