4 years agoThe Miami Dolphins will not force rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) to play through his injury in Week 12 against the Jets if they think that it's affecting him at all. Tagovailoa's status for Sunday's game is very much in question. The rookie from Alabama was limited in practice this week after jamming his thumb on a helmet during practice on Wednesday. The Dolphins are either trying to make things difficult for the Jets in their game-planning or they are actually concerned about Tagovailoa's thumb. Either way, things aren't trending in the right direction for the 22-year-old and he makes for a low-end QB2 at risk of being on a short leash if he does start. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 18-for-27 for 191 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the shutout win over the Jets in their first meeting in Week 6. He'd also be a low-end QB2 for those in superflex leagues if he gets the start over Tagovailoa.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
