Trevor Bauer Wants To Pitch Regularly
4 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Trevor Bauer has been vocal about his desire to pitch every four days during the shortened 60-game season if the team goes with a four-man starting rotation. Pitching coach Derek Johnson said last weekend that that option was "100 percent on the table." "I'm really happy where I'm at, ready to go five or six [innings] right now," Bauer said. The 29-year-old righty said he has prepared his body for a shorter season this year, and manager David Bell said that Bauer is "right on track" and "looked completely prepared" during a live batting practice session on Monday. Throwing more would help Bauer's fantasy cause in the short season, but don't forget that he was 2-5 with a 6.39 ERA in 10 starts for Cincy after the trade from Cleveland in 2019. The strikeouts are nice (career 9.5 K/9), but at what cost as a SP2?
