Tony Santillan To Make Debut On Sunday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Tony Santillan is expected to be promoted this weekend and get the start on Sunday in place of the injured Sonny Gray, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. The No. 9 prospect in Cincinnati's system according to MLB Pipeline, Santillan has put up some good performances on the mound this year at Triple-A Louisville, posting a 2.51 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings — including a 13-strikeout performance in his last start against St. Paul. He should be a good pitcher to start in any format on Sunday, going up against a Colorado Rockies squad that struggles to hit outside of Coors Field.
