Teoscar Hernandez Starting On The Bench In Game 1
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of a doubleheader to wrap up the regular season. The Blue Jays will give Hernandez a little breather, but he'll likely be back in the lineup for Game 2. He's been hot at the plate of late and is batting .269/.317/.495 with an .812 OPS, 25 home runs, 77 RBI, 71 runs scored and six stolen bases in 495 at-bats on the year. Jackie Bradley Jr. is getting the start in right field and will hit seventh against Orioles right-hander Mike Baumann in Game 1. Since the start of September, Bradley is hitting just .180 (7-for-39) with a homer, five RBI and 11 strikeouts in 22 games.
