Teams Showing Interest In Sonny Gray
Sonny Gray, and the Reds are gauging interest around the league. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported last month that Cincinnati was open to moving the right-hander. The New York Post's Joel Sherman wrote last Friday that the team was "working hard" to trade him. The 31-year-old will make $20 million over 2021-2022 and had a 3.07 ERA with a 10.8 K/9 in his two seasons with the Reds, but Cincy is also likely to lose National League Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer in free agency. If the Reds deal Gray, they'll almost certainly make a few free-agent pitching additions, and they are also said to be prioritizing the addition of a starting shortstop.
