Taylor Ward Lands On Injured List With Facial Fractures
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Angels placed outfielder Taylor Ward (face) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with facial fractures and selected the contract of infielder Kevin Padlo from the minors in a corresponding move. Ward had to go to the hospital on Saturday after getting hit in the face by a pitch from right-hander Alek Manoah. It was a scary scene, and the 29-year-old will most definitely be out for well beyond the 10 days on the injured list. With Ward out, the Angels are using rookie Trey Cabbage in center field in the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. Ward has produced decent power for fantasy managers this year with 14 home runs while hitting .253/.335/.421 with 47 RBI, four stolen bases and 60 runs scored in an everyday role for the Halos.
