Taylor Heinicke Takes First-Team Reps Wednesday
4 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke saw first-team repetitions in practice on Wednesday with Alex Smith (calf) still dealing with a calf strain. Smith returned to play in the Week 17 win over the Eagles after missing the previous two games, but the veteran's movement was limited and he had an up-and-down performance because of it. Head coach Ron Rivera said on Tuesday that the team will consider rotating the two QBs in the wild-card playoff game against the Buccaneers on Saturday night. Washington will likely take it easy on the 36-year-old Smith in practice this week so that he can be as close to full health as possible for this weekend. Against an aggressive Tampa defense, we wouldn't recommend using either Smith or Heinicke for your fantasy lineups.
